I liked the way that Cyberverse suggested that the Matrix contained the essence of each of the 13. (And an Optimus Prime, who had it on him when he died.)
IMO, the matrix is best as shared artifact among the 13, essentially bigger than any of them. Prima is the first to wield it, sure, but...
Y'all act like this isn't a franchise built on 40 years of questionable continuity decisions.
For this toyline Star Optimus Prime is one of the original 13, oh well?
People acting like it's a slap in the face or something.
Is he a big deal, though? Until the 13, his biggest claim to fame was a one page spread with no set-up at the end of a comic series that sold so badly it got canceled after 12 issues. Even then, he no longer even has his biggest hook (being the progenitor of the Decepticons) because they gave...
I just realized the reason they used the G1 head for Prima might be because they used the Dreamwave head for the Fallen.
Also, Prima gives me G1 Megatron color scheme vibes now.
Disappointed that Onyx doesn't appear to be a centaur and that Amalgamous does really have anything that suggests "lots of alt-modes"

It seems to me if you want the scramble city gimmick, and don't care about show accuracy or size, you go with Combiner Wars.
If you want bigger, more show accurate combiners (even Superion's legs were a lot more square than teh toys allowed, what with them also having to be jets) then go with...
I will say this: Hasbro has had a rough couple of years:they massively expanded during COVID and made a lot of bets that didn't pay off and their media attempts fully collapsed. I wouldn't be surprised if a sizable number of investors would just like to get a big payout and move on.
Not...
Called it.
I don't know why everyone assumed the Titan class would have to be $200 or more. It's literally a single-item class! They can make it whatever price/size they want!
TFA was pretty safe, but as a foundation for building a trilogy it wasn't awful, though I would have liked more explanation of how we went from 'Yub Yub" to the First Order poised to take over the galaxy, but whatever.
TLJ had a lot of great ideas of where to take the franchise, wrapped in kind...
