The setup for the 2007 movie was a good one, I think. One central character, a number of subplots that each contribute something toward discovering this alien arrival/threat. The execution fumbled them some, but the idea was solid -- soldiers discover unstoppable humanoid war-weapons and learn...
Or just Hot Rod Prime; Prime can be a title (as it ended up anyway).
In terms of design:
I do want to keep the fiery space Winnebago. Maybe change the front a little bit so it's not still basically Hot Rod under a camper shell.
This can lead to a slightly different robot mode, maybe one where...
First thing would be to not call him Rodimus.
For all my fondness of the character, that's something I'll always be nonplussed at having made it through all the levels of approval to the final product.
It parallels forcing him into the role of the next Optimus Prime, right down to forcing the...
Japanese site eHobby continues to roll out their exclusive SD Transformers cards, as they've updated their website to show off wave TWELVE of these neat little things, which are sold in pairs for JPY980. The latest additions to the super-deformed-art card lineup give us a nice leader-focused...
I agree with a lot of that, UndeadScottsman.
Sam isn't terrible in the first film since it's still interested in the Spielbergian "boy and his car" vibe, but he quickly becomes terrible in the next two. And the whole "comedic" angle of having Shia scream a lot -- most gratingly in the DOTM...
If it felt at all like it left any openness for a back and forth I wouldn't have said what I said.
I mean, read the responses.
"You want Airachnid? I think what you REALLY want is (thing you didn't say) but... you can't have that." is a twofer.
"That doesn't work for me." Why does it have to...
I'd probably put 2007 at the top and Bumblebee either tied with it (both good, in different ways) or second. The former is still only partly held down by Bayhem as it's early days yet, and has a handful of indelible moments of spectacle that actually have weight. And it's a full cast on both...
Okay, I've decided against posting the rest of my ideas here. The rest of you can have fun with it.
This has quickly turned into a repeat of the first thread where "here's a question, what are your thoughts?" is followed by "see, here's why you're wrong."
Discussion is great, but "submit your...
Might come back later and itemize an "idk how any of this would be done, but here's what I want from each post-G1 era or alt-G1 take" list. Just for my own tastes, character names would be changed to avoid reuse, favoring G1.
But for now I'd beef up Megatron's Earth crew, adding in characters...
I love clear plastic in general (light piping and clear energy weapons are among my favorite gimmicks), but I've realized I can take or leave it when it's vehicle windows. (And honestly it's funny how the pendulum has swung back -- fandom demands clear windows, gets them... and then starts...
Really wish they'd chosen (or been able to choose, idk) the Trashmaster mold as a base instead.
Seeing Dreadwing there and noticing that between him and Thundertron, Legacy's from-scratch remakes of Prime designs have now more than once gone very big on shoulder pads. Like the originals HAD...
That Optimus doesn't look too bad. Robot mode is okay, although the truck mode is pretty bad. Either way, a relatively easy skip.
Are they bringing back plastic panel windows? One shot of Sentinel in box seems to have one. Plus it would help keep box integrity with these fairly large windows.
