Damn, it Is! Version 2!

I completely missed that.
I was wondering why there wasn't a Joe villain visible as Shockwave and Zedd, but I dismissed it as some evil Zordon variant I didn't know about.
-ZacWilliam, that makes more sense.
I would not complain if they went back to the original intended design where the head was also a robot.
-ZacWilliam, and was it a roller too, I forget.
Got an email from Renegade Games (folks behind the Transformers and other licensed Table Top RPGs) about their events at Gencon this year:
"Our presence at Gen Con this year is the biggest it's been to date! We've got bunch of key events running for our G.I. JOE, Transformers, and Power Rangers...
Late Birthday gift from my folks on a very messy end table.
-ZacWilliam, I've got Mr Fixit preordered, I just need them to make a good Pantheon Smart Hulk now please.
I want retro reissue Diaclone Drivers with little magnet feet darn it.
-ZacWilliam, Also, The Dinobot molds need to be recreated anyway, I'd take them in this style.
I had read summaries, reactions and thoughts before but I finally just got to read the issue itself (sometimes it's hard to get to the store nowadays).
My thoughts:
-ZacWilliam, The pared down cast should be fun to see put in focus.
That was my wife's theory as well. And it's pretty likely.
Although I suppose it's also possible it needs some fairly vital last minute reshoots.
-ZacWilliam, also possible it's just garbage enough that they kicked it into the future as you would kick a half crumpled soda can down a street.
Coordinated attack. Very detailed very methodical and planed.
Did stuff like stage a secondary attack elsewhere to draw off the Avengers and so on.
-ZacWilliam, it wasn't a bum-rush so much as a meticulous coordinated slaughter.
I'm pretty sure it was already renewed for a season2.
-ZacWilliam, hopefully they make the most of how much they've blow up the previous status quo and really shake things up:
Burned through the last partial season this afternoon.
It was good.
Boy there was a moment in those last 3 episodes where Earthspark decided it wasn't playing around and I'm surprised that something like that was allowed to happen in this kids cartoon. Even to a Villian.
If I want to nitpick...
Ordered. It was a bit more than I wanted to spend but I really wanted a Dion to go with Orion.
-ZacWilliam, I mean Arial too I guess but that head sculpt makes me a little less enthusiastic there.
Who was an "epic protagonist of destiny?" That doesn't really sound like any TF kid except maybe Sari and she was too grounded and goofy for that.
They just felt like badly written, unnecessarily annoying kids to me.
Also I was a fat kid and am a chubby adult (with Diabetes like Fred), I...
One thing I've noticed on my latest attempt to watch through Armada (watched 2 more last night. Still not at the 1/2 way point) is that the kids are kinda awful.
And listen i generally like kid sidekicks just fine. Every other TF show I can think I'm either fine with or actively like the humans...
I really liked the Free Comic Book Day "Ranger's Academy" story. I tried to look up the actual book only to find it wasn't out yet and didn't even have a scheduled release windo wich was a bummer.
-ZacWilliam, Only really got into Rangers watching Beast Morphers with my son and listening to...
What is really impressive about Armada in the modern context is they are largely simple enough for a kid to TF easy, full of fun gimmicks and really really thick blocky and solid/durable by modern standards.
Todays kids aimed figures sometimes, sometimes, still get the gimmicks, but they're...
I like the fact that a new character breaks into one of Cobra's secret business meetings as a job audition and CC is like "Sure! Ok, you're in." And immediately assigns them to the division that shoots them with a weird pulp science "laser" that infuses them with the genetic(?) mystical (?)...
I think Armada is probably the most "Fun and Best Kid Friendly" TF Toy Line. The toys aren't the most poseable or adult collector friendly but they are the most fun to play with and for a kid, and Armada Megatron despite the lack of leg articulation may be the most fun TF ever with a great look...
