    Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Saw this today and loved it. Best movie of Phase 4, which I realize doesn't sound like THAT much of an accomplishment, but it's really, really good. (I mean, I loved No Way Home, but that was way more for nostalgia-bait reasons that had little to do with the quality of the movie) It felt like a...

Thanks! I'll give that a watch. Eventually. :)

    31 Days of Halloween (2022)

I've really gotta watch that original Phantom someday. Just so I can say I've seen the Big 3 of silent horror (along with Caligari and Nosferatu). But silent films are one movie prejudice I've yet to conquer. I can respect them, I can even watch them academically, but they just don't really do...

    31 Days of Halloween (2022)

Just saw "Bodies Bodies Bodies", and enjoyed it a lot. Jeez, between this, "Barbarian", "Black Phone", and "Nope", this has really been a good year for me for original horror movies.

    31 Days of Halloween (2022)

A movie called Barbarian just hit HBO Max, and I'm giving it a big recommend. It's the rare movie I went into knowing absolutely nothing about it. I never saw a trailer, and I only became aware of it through the fortunate happenstance of everyone online praising it and at the same time not...

Yeah, I think the Horseman was one good Lee/Cushing Hammer joint away from being regarded as one of the top-tier monsters. As it is, everyone's heard of him, but I don't think he's near the top of anyone's list of favorites.

    31 Days of Halloween (2022)

I don't usually go in for Four Horseman stuff, but this Headless Horseman hit at just the right time to make him an irresistible impulse buy for me. I've handled better-constructed toys, to be honest, but this thing is still cool as hell.

    31 Days of Halloween (2022)

I signed up for a month of Peacock to watch a couple of new/recent movies, with mixed results. Black Phone I wanted to see this in the theater, but just couldn't get around to it. I wish I had, though, because it was awesome. I haven't read the short story it was based on, but was not in the...

    31 Days of Halloween (2022)

I actually didn't think I'd be participating in spooky season as much this year, as I have a ton of stuff going on at the moment. But looking back, I've actually piled up a respectably amount of first-time watches so far. Dark Glasses (2022) - Shudder I just happened upon this; Shudder aired...

    31 Days of Halloween (2022)

You should check out the "sequel" to the Karloff one, The Mummy's Hand. Not REALLY a sequel, since it's about a completely different mummy. But it's a decent watch, and you'll find it's where the Fraser version got its more action-adventurey tone from.

    31 Days of Halloween (2022)

God, now I wanna see that. Quasimodo: "Sanctuary!" John Cleese: "Mmm, really more of a Roman-Catholic thing, isn't it."

Obligatory "he was even better in 'Son of Frankenstein' than he was in 'Dracula'" post.

    31 Days of Halloween (2022)

Between Ygor, Fritz, and Daniel (J. Carrol Naish's character in House of Frankenstein), I kinda feel like Universal just thinks of the very concept of a hunchback as one of the monsters in their stable. Not the most sensitive way to look at it, but, y'know...*gestures broadly in the direction of...

    31 Days of Halloween (2022)

Yay, happy to see this thread resurrected. :) I did the same, except my copy's on Audible and the information they provide is usually crap. Thankfully, someone in the review section identified it as "not the 1818 version". Hopefully that's the big set with all the sequels. Each series...

    Marvel Toy Thread

If the recent leaks are to be believed, the complete team is already a done deal. Banshee/Gambit/Psylocke in one 3-pack, Forge/Jubilee/Storm in another. Wolverine was the only unknown till now. That is, unless they also plan on releasing an Xavier with that giant cape and that big, effed-up helmet.

    Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

That said, and as much as I've enjoyed the SNW writing, these are still the showrunners that decided Spock grew up with a human sister and just promised never to mention her.

    Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

I could definitely see a cockier Lieutenant Kirk show up, with Pike having to figure out how to course-correct him without stunting his growth. (I don't especially like the idea, but I can see it)

It's funny, when Thor But you're right, they really didn't establish that at all.
