A question for customizers

I'm planning to use a KO G1 Inferno to make myself my own Artfire, and I could use some help.

What kind of paint should I use? I was thinking about just going with some spray paint for the white and the black.
I'm not going to bother repainting the head and ladder. For one, painting that ladder sounds like a huge pain in the ass, and for two, this is just something I'm doing for my own enjoyment so I don't feel the need to go 100%. And also this way it can never be confused with a legit one.
Also, does anyone know if there are any repro's of the vehicle mode gun mount? It's not really necessary, but it would be nice to have.

It's been a while since I've painted anything, but I've had good luck with Krylon Fusion. You have to be careful because it can go on pretty thick, but it's meant for plastics.

I prefer Rustoleum over Krylon but at the end of the day, always make sure you test with a different toy first. Different locations have varied temperature/humidity, plus there's times the can itself may be bad. The can can be good but differences in nozzle and can pressure can affect your tastes.

Are....are we supposed to be tasting the paint? Maybe I've been using them wrong this whole time?

If so I stand by my earlier recommendation... uh I mean...

Some spray paints can melt plastic, so I would suggest airbrushing instead of a spray can. White is usually a difficult color to work with so you will probably need some type of primer.

Most spray cans can melt plastic, it's literally how the paint sticks. Thus the suggestion to test on something else first. An airbrush can be great but if you don't already own one, it can set you back around $100 USD for a starter.
