Nah, it's the same old sparkling autocomplete it looks like from testing, it just only slaughters 2 lakes instead of 8 to do the same task(because China can't get advanced chips due to US export bans, so they actually had to -optimize- instead of throwing more money at more hardware).

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

The ultimate goal of AI SHOULD be to allow humans to focus on what is important to them by eliminating tedious tasks, not to make the rich river at the expense of everyone else..
Yes, well, while we the people want rosy from the jetsons; the rich want absolutely EVERYTHING from that one matrix animated short, but only for themselves. And Terminators.

So you can see the bind they're in.

They really have absolutely no long-term plan or end goal other than More Money For Me Forever Eternally And hug Everyone Else, don't they.

Oh no, they do have long term plans. Or at least: they have what they consider to be long term. But they're also business people: so long term is two to three quarters from now, not even a full year, and absolutely nothing beyond that.

No, the computer didn't tell them to.. The computer just said 'this appears to be the guy' they are the ones who failed to check to see if the computer was right. It was laziness

Let's not pretend that facial recognition software has any business existing anywhere ever, regardless of how it's used. The whole point of machines is to allow people to be lazy, and this is something people should not have the option to be lazy about.

I wasn't expecting the billionaires to have more incentive to use AI than "it's cheaper than using humans".

Nice teardown on OpenAI and how they're basically the underpants gnomes.

Every national newspaper today put a front page ad for a campaign against the UK government’s AI policies.

I'm getting flashbacks to 2009(?) when a whole bunch of websites went black for a day in protest of SOPA. And even that didn't feel this widespread; I remember getting very pissy on social media about Google not even acknowledging it.
