Yeah, BGC is kind of the gold standard when it comes to Cyberpunk anime. IMO, it's better than Akira.

Golden Standard in Cyberpunk? Better than Akira? You know, I've heard the title before but never seen it. If it's really that good though, I'll have to see if it's on Crunchy Roll. Barring that, I'm sure Amazon should have something.

I just been watching the latest ep of: I May Be a Guild Receptionist, but I'll Solo Any Boss to Clock Out on Time

Honestly, this series is pretty fun the MC maybe powerful but she not arrogant, just short tempered when it comes to dungeons not being clearly quickly as various problems arrise and she wants to simply clock out on time

The legend returns in GLORIOUS HD!

Seriously, BGC was a staple of the early 90s anime scene.
It was already in HD, really, this is just a new release to split the episodes onto two discs instead of one so there's no compression and the audio quality is better, plus bonus features.

You can read about what the release will have here on their site.

Not saying you shouldn't buy this new release, mind you. AnimEigo is one of the companies I feel deserves support, being in the game as long as they have and keeping the bar of quality that high the whole time. Just thought I'd mention the differences between it and the prior releases so there's no confusion if one goes looking for it later.

Maybe they'll finally get the rights sorted for Gunsmith Cats and get another print of that going too.

I know there was a kickstarter to get a blu ray of Gunsmith Cats out, as I bought it for my roommate who loves the series. But yeah it was a limited print, and expensive to get now.

I kept sitting on my hands and before I knew it I missed every chance I had. Silly me, I won't make that mistake again.

Out of the shows I'm watching, I'm up to episode 4 of "I want to Escape Princess Lessons" and I've got to say. It's... kinda rubbing me the wrong way. Not sure I'm going to be able to get through this one.

Been watching Headhunted to another world, while a Isakai, instead of action, its more about business and trade, its not exactly the best this season but its entertaining at least, our MC is a bit obcessed with work as for a long time his talents went unacknowledged in our world, but in this new world, the Demon King acknowledges his talents and he is one of the big four

Well that's not what I expected when I said I wanted a Gunsmith Cats reprint.

Bummed about Wonderful Precure being over. Of all the seasons I've seen (have not watched all of them), this one probably made me cry the most.
Also I bet they made the dads tasty for the older ladies/moms watching the show with their kids.

What size is that? I have the early 2000s omnibusses but could be convinced to rebuy the series on larger pages.

Thanks. I'm kinda wary of Trigun Stampede. When you absolutely love the original, reboots/remakes can be done really well or really badly. I may give it a shot, but with trepidation.
Coming back to this, as I picked up Trigun Stampede as a Christmas gift and am roughly halfway through it now.

So.....have you read the Trigun manga? That seems crucial, as there are characters/versions of characters in Stampede that were in the manga but not the original anime.

I...don't hate Stampede. I've been watching the dub and a few episodes subbed; I honestly like the dub better right now. It kind of explores more of Vash's history after the SEEDS ships crashed, interspersed with a 'present day' story that follows many of the same beats as the original. Like, it's familiar, yet different from the original enough to be interesting so far. Vash seems like more of a peacemaker than in the original anime. In contrast, while the original anime was never too shy about violence and death, Stampede kinda turns the dial up to eleven? There's a whole lot of 'squelching' sound effects, if that makes sense?

The art doesn't quite feel like what I remember Nightow's work to look like, but it's not completely dissimilar; and some of it is quite fantastic. There are static scenes at the end of each episode that look cool, and some of the updated characters really look sharp.

The commercial bumpers show a map of No Man's Land, and as the episodes progress, actually shows where the story is happening, which is kind of cool.

It's not the classic Trigun, for sure, but I think it's worth giving a shot.

I haven't read the manga. But if I can get back to GitS and actually finish it at some point, I surly wouldn't mind checking it out. Heck! It's been so long since I've watched the anime, I may just have to go back and marathon it sometime.

I went ahead and ordered the hardcover manga. Even if I don't get around to reading it immediately, it'll be there for when I'm ready.

In any case, I like the character designs so much, just having it around for the art will be worth the price.

Besides, maybe getting to Trigun will help motivate me to get through Ghost in the Shell.

It's definitely worth a read, Nightow's art is fun to look at. If you've seen the anime, the original Trigun manga is pretty close, when it switches to Trigun Maximum and starts to burn through the Gung Ho Guns, it really does start to diverge significantly. There's a lot more of the Gung Ho Guns' background explored, and Wolfwood's whole story is significantly changed; Stampede pulls most of his story (so far) from the manga.

One thing I forgot to mention, the music in Stampede is very, very different from the original. I really like the opening theme, though.

Well, the manga came today. So, aside from what I can watch on Crunchyroll, this is what I have of Trigun:

Trigun Vol. 1 - DVD
Back in college, my second girlfriend (the good one I was a fool to not try harder to keep), was into anime. She let me borrow her first volume of Trigun. I later got my own copy. It would actually be a while before I saw any more than those first four episodes. Looking at the case often reminds me of her.

Trigun Complete Series - DVD
Eventually I found this. Never having gotten past the first four episodes, I had to buy it. Instant Love.

Trigun Badlands Rumble - Bluray
There's only so late in the series of events that this could be placed, and I don't think its every explicitly said when. But if you need more Trigun, this doesn't dissapoint.

Trigun First Donut, Trigun Second Donut - CD
The soundtracks. I mostly got it for H.T. But there's quite a bit of good stuff on these.

Trigun Deluxe Edition Darkhorse Manga - Book
This just arrived tonight. So I haven't really been able to look at it much yet. But the cover's pretty!
