Anti-Semitism

Greenblatt must resign, he has totally destroyed his credibility. The ADL fought hard against Ford's antisemitism; it was specifically an ADL lawsuit that got his insane newspaper, The Dearborn Independent, shut down. Greenblatt himself had discussed Ford's antisemitism only about 18 months ago.

More to the point: ford literally invented the modern concept of the factory, and the concept of standardization. Not to mention his progressive pay methods. Musk is also LITERALLY the opposite of those: ruining the streamlining of a factory because of "cool", using proprietary parts and software to make it harder to service on the end of the consumer and threatening and abusing his employees with slave wages.

About the only thing Musk properly founded that's still around was SpaceX. The entire IDEA of Tesla was fully formed before he was even brought on board as an investor(he later orchestrated a takeover and forced the actual founders out of the company and if the original founders had their way, Tesla probably would have a sub $30,000 car out already, it was Musk who insisted on using overpriced materials and adding superfluous features).

I agree about the takeover thing, but the cheapest EV on the US market right now is the Chevy Bolt EV, which starts at over $40,000. I rather doubt a startup would have been able to undercut that price by now under any circumstances, especially if they're stuck making do without Musk's investment.

Entry level Chevy Bolt is now around $25000. They did a massive price drop with the 2023 model.

I had to click that link just to make sure it wasn't an old story from, like, 2018 or something because I'm positive this isn't the first time he's said this exact thing.

No, this is an old line from him. He's got this whole idea that every Jewish person in America is beholden to Israel.

Polling on Jewish Americans has not changed significantly in decades. There's always supermajority support for the Democratic Party, Zionism (at some level), and secular egalitarian progressive politics. Israel is usually around priority #8 or lower.

Trump is not the first Republican to snottily demand Jewish loyalty because he's "good for Israel," but he is the most dangerous.

Let's be clear here: there was a not insignificant portion of the german population who went along with the nazi regime simply due to the fear of reprisal should they take a stand. This is, however, not an excuse. If they were against it, but still participated: they are just as guilty as the ones who gleefully participated. There are no good nazi's, there are no good fascists.

You can make a case that all 40’s Germans weren’t bad people but if you sign up for the Nazi Party for *any* reason (be it fear of reprisal, career advancement, or even plain old racism) then you have to also accept being called an evil piece of jive for it.

Makes about as much sense as anything else the far right has been spouting in the last couple of decades.

Translation: we support Israel as long as it continues to serve our interests, but now we're going to openly admit that we hate the Jews. Always have, always will.

Not much of a change, to be honest.
