Next verse, similar to the first: Storm Milton is tracking to hit central Florida as a hurricane (Tampa Bay region), ranging from 1-3. Landfall is expected Wednesday.

Update for the Florida folks:
Hurricane Milton has intensified to a category 4, with some models indicating it may peak at a category 5. Landfall is still expected Wednesday, as a strong category 3 or weak category 4 hurricane, around the Tampa Bay region. Evacuation of hospitals and vulnerable facilities started yesterday, but widespread evacuation orders are expected to roll out today.
Storm surge is expected to be double the intensity of Helene’s record storm surge!
Jim Cantore arrived in the Cape Coral region yesterday.

The Florida peninsula is going to get SLAMMED in a couple days, so make sure you are prepared and evacuate when ordered.

I managed to get groceries delivered between bands of rain. Track is still north of me, so I'm ready to ride this thing out.

Just be aware of flooding. That's what has killed more with Helene than anything related to storm surge and wind. There's also the issue of potential for Tornadoes.

Milton became a Category 5. Sustained Winds 180mph, though it is expected to weaken to a 3 or 4 by the time it hits Wednesday. If you live in Tampa? GET OUT!

It looks like I'm in the clear. If the current track holds, I'll just barely get scraped by the edge of tropical storm strength winds and only lose power for two days.

Poor Tampa though. Track has them in an absolute bullseye.

Central Florida, as a whole is going to get whomped. Path basically rolls through the biggest tourist destinations of the state from Tampa Bay through Disney and Universal.

They're still saying it'll weaken, so hopefully that pans out. Although the predictions have gone from weakening to a 3 to weakening to a 4, so the trend here is not good.

My family and I bailed on Tampa and headed to a family friends in South Carolina, just outside of Savannah now. We were hoping it might push more south and we would ride it out. AccuWeather shows the eye passing within about 2 miles of our house.

Anybody who stayed behind stay safe.

Living in Miami, Im not too worried about this upcoming storm in our neck of the woods. But I have friends in Tampa, Orlando and Talahassee that I'm genuinely starting to worry for.

Tracks have moved south.

Tampa is going to pull off a last minute escape again. Just watch.

You have one expected to form around the 15th and hit the tip.

Let’s hope so! Feel bad for whoever gets it, but Tampa isn’t ready.
Oh, Tampa is getting nailed with the brunt of the storm. But, by trending to a more southern eye landfall, they won’t get AS BAD a storm surge as they would have had if the storm had fallen north of Tampa.

I live in Brandon and work in South Tampa. Only people who are ready are the dudes that party on Bayshore. 😂

These are the updated tracks from this morning. Looking like it might make landfall as a cat 4.

Models still have it hitting as a 3, but it's running out of time to weaken that much. It's heading solidly northeast now.
