You say no cheating, and yet you include modern Diaclone toys, Tonka GoBots, and IP-stealing third party toys, none of which are Transformers.

Might as well throw in some Power Rangers megazords while you're at it. ;)

GoBots are Transformers (or, depending on the continuity, Transformers are GoBots). They may have been retroactively absorbed into the franchise, but it's pretty clear from releases like Crasher, Bug Bite, and Road Ranger that Hasbro considers them part of the Transformers family (even if the original toy designs are off-limits).

Naming a hunderd, that be hard because I just can't rank a lot of mine as I got a LOT and I do need a purge of those that simply sit in boxes and like and dislike goes up and down depending how offen I mess with them and some that are on display, not been messed with in AGEs, example, Cybertron Optimus prime, he one I glance at every day, yet I don't reach to mess with him as I got to move other figures to get him!

You know good and well that one in-joke-filled book about Transformers Animated, and a bunch of in-joke-filled posts on a Fun Pub-run Facebook page, aren't enough to legally declare a ton of Bandai-made toys from the 1980s that were never owned by or licensed to Hasbro/Takara official Transformers toys.

Those Crasher, Bug Bite, and Road Ranger toys you mentioned aren't GoBots toys. They're Transformers toys that merely represent GoBots characters. Therein lies the difference between fictional characters and physical toy product items of the real world. I'm talking about the latter.

And you know good and well that, beyond the sources you cite, there is a GoBots comic miniseries, licensed by Hasbro, that uses pretty much the original GoBots toy designs throughout, and HEAVILY implies at the end that the Transformers are the descendants of the GoBots.

Beyond that, nobody said the old toys were legally anything. In fact, I fairly pointedly mentioned the original Gobots toys were off-limits to Hasbro. The characters those toys represent are what matters, and the GoBots comic and the toys I listed would seem to indicate that Hasbro considers themselves owners of the GoBots characters, and under the Transformers umbrella at that.

If Hasbro having the rights to the original figures mattered, then Roadbuster, Whirl, the Deluxe Insecticons, and even Jetfire would be disqualified. In the same way that those Takatoku figures were licensed to Hasbro to sell as Transformers, the original Machine Robo figures were licensed to Tonka and sold as GoBots. Neither of those original sets of figures can likely be re-released by Hasbro now, yet they make new versions of those characters as Transformers to this day.

Apologies if this comes off more tetchy than it is meant to be, but in a list of top 100 Transformers toys/characters/names/whatever, I absolutely feel that GoBots 100% qualify to be in the running, particularly since Hasbro seems to have fully embraced that the GoBots are theirs (just not the original toys). If the Wiki disagrees, fine, but in an unofficial, non-legally-binding fan's list, surely the vintage GoBots can hold an honorary TF status just like any modern TF GoBot updates?

You say "No Cheating", yet give no indication what 'cheating' is. GoBots are in such a grey area it might as well be called Leader-1. Not even a few ground rules. So rather I'd like to place a few firm suggestions:

1) WHY 100? How about something more manageable like 50 or 25?
2) Third Party offerings are disqualified. We have an entire sub-forum for those.
3) No Mold Redundancies. ONE version of a mold. Shared Engineering and extensive re-tools allowed. New heads don't count.
4) Repeat characters are fine.
5) Combiners shouldn't count, as they're made of several other characters. Listing each member of the combiner though.....
6) GoBots are Grandfathered in, as long as the mold was released AS a GoBot.
7) Any toys from lines harvested for Transformers not released as Transformers don't count.
8) Please try to preference a version of the mold that most will have experienced over the Super limited rare export with different paint you just happen to have.

Firm Suggestions, like I said, since I didn't make the topic. If/when I make my list, these will help me make it, and a lot of it will be from Cybertron (2005).
And it won't be 100.

I only brought it up in the first place because tec's toy list included the original Tonka toys.
