I've been reading this on Kindle. Doric was already my favorite character in the movie. The book is really good so far.

These were more than 50% off at Target, so I nabbed Michelle Rodriguez.

Being on a D&D kick, I started to try to get the whole collection of the cartoon characters.

While waiting for Amazon and BBTS, I found these at Barn's and Noble..

I do believe that's all of them:

Sheila, Bobby, Uni, Hank, Dungeon Master, Venger, Presto, Diana and Eric.

My wallet is bleeding but my heart is happy.

Where's Tiermat and Vengor's flying horse?

Are there toys for those? If there are, I'd love to know where to get them.

There's also an overpriced/scalped Junko Plop version.

Apart from statues, there's a custom Night-Mare.

Meh! If they make them in the current line I may go for them. But that pic hardly entices me to go on to eBay looking for an overpriced vintage.

So I have a question. Just how powerful are Elder brains. I ask because...

Baldur's Gate 3:
An Elder Brain is the final boss. Now granted, there was some stuff said about this one being special. But the way everyone talked about it, even normal Elder Brains are no joke.

Legend of Drizzt book "Exile":
Guenhwyvar pounces on an Elder Brain once, it goes squishy.

Now granted, Guen is no ordinary panther. Still, one pounce and dead in one story...final boss for another.

Did RA Salvatore just really undersell it or something? How strong are these things supposed to be?

That really makes me wonder about Guenhwyvar's stats. I mean, tell me if I'm remembering it wrong but the way I remember it:

Guenhwyvar:
Scuse me. Comin' through. Did I just step in something?

Elder Brain:
*is dead*

Eh... a wizard did it.

Looking her up, she's a 600lb magical beast. 4e (which I believe was in effect when she was written) has monster manual entries for shadow and fey panthers so she might be a variant of those which would potentially give her protection against many of the Brain's attacks. And hey, sometimes you just roll a nat 20!

Works for me. At least I can't think of anything else.

Okay, to be fair, it's been a while since I've read the book and this is what I was going by.

Basically, Guen landed and the brain was dead.

Only slightly more to it. At least it was explained Guen had some kind of immunity to the mental attacks. Still, it was quite the curb-stomp 'battle'.

Guen is a magical creation, not an actual normal panther. She has whatever immunities the plot needs her to have for a given book.

Early books were also written under different edition rules, so you'd have to go check which version of D&D was out when that was written.
