I LOVE how this one turned out.
He does deserve it. It just never happens to him when he's DOING the things that make him deserve it.
Also based on a true story, except it was an Air Force academy and not the Royal Guards. My mother knew I hated my school so much that I definitely would have accepted. So she kept it hidden until A FRIGGING DREAM tipped me off and I confronted her.
Life is weird sometimes.
If this were an episode of a cartoon he would have succeeded. But the dice are cruel.
