If G1 Megatron’s fusion cannon bounced off Prime, certainly that pee-shooter in the animated movie should not have been able to do anything to Prime.

I've never seen this before. That is bonkers and I love it.
The first two pics are from the Tom Scioli TF/Joe crossover comic series, while the last pic is from the old Marvel TF/Joe crossover mini-series.
I liked the Transformers Energon cartoon. It was very G1-like in terms of the cast of characters (eg. having both Optimus Prime and Rodimus Prime working together). The stakes couldn’t have been any higher. It was almost like what the 1986 Transformers The Animated Movie could have been like if they did not kill off Optimus Prime and used their most powerful weapon, Omega Supreme, against Unicron. I like how Optimus Prime and Omega Supreme teamed up to defeat Unicron:

The Sweeps were originally intended to be basically robot nazis, according to the original concept script, so it fits.

G1 Megatron was Stalin because he was interested in sucking the planet dry, mirroring the oil wars and gasoline prices of the 1970’s and 1980’s involving Russia (Soviet Union).
