I like that.
I was mostly trying to see if I could stick as close to the original cartoon timeline as possible, getting the Quints off GoBotron before the first Renegade rebellion was instigated by the master.
He and the Last Engineer could have been among the few natives who weren't turned into full GoBots by the Quints because the Quints needed to keep some of the original GoBeing templates intact just in case something went wrong and they'd need to start over from scratch. Both of them could have been among of several engineers whom the Quints forced into being the primary maintenance crew for the original cyborg GoBots. After the Quints left, the engineers would continue to help maintain the mechanical functions of the early GoBots until the Modifier technology was upgraded from simple transformation-giving to also providing maintenance and repair work, making the engineers slowly superfluous and gradually dying out. The one who would become the Master Renegade would view the Guardian-controlled peace as the cause of this stagnation that led to his fellow engineers dying out, and would launch the first Renegade rebellion, aiming to take over GoBotron for himself. Though he caused an asteroid to crash into the planet, his rebellion would get quashed with help from the Last Engineer, and the master would flee into space, stealing a ship intended for the Last Engineer in the process. Though the master failed, the damage was done. The new Renegade faction would continue to exist and wage war against the Guardians, while the Last Engineer would go into suspended animation and fade into myth and legend.
