Optimus' alt mode is adorable.
The 11th, I think.
He looks like a really useful engine.
I think I've bought like 3 third party toys of that Bumblebee design. Be nice to have one from Hasbro.
Actually gave one to my brother in law as a wedding gift. He made his own steam engine for fun when he was in high school.
I will say I like the looks of the third party Steel Heart Optimus to this one, but it's not a dealbreaker for me.
I'm glad we're going to be getting some interesting and unique takes on the characters. yeah, it's going to be the same 4, but that's fine. Not like we don't already have a million of them anyway. *looks over at my Prime display
Clearly the characters sell, so what's wrong with some of the more unique and 'out there' designs getting their day in the plastic limelight?

I'd be really tempted by Megatron if he were available on his own. Starscream is interesting, and I would take him if he were the one packed in with Megatron, or if there were more HoS Decepticons to team him up with. But I have no interest in OP or Bumblebee, and confirming that it's just those four kinda kills my interest in them.
The idea of a subline dedicated to just these same four characters is also of no real interest to me, especially if it's going to continuously be packs of characters rather than being able to just get the ones I might actually want.

I honestly just want the Bumblebee, and Starscream might be a distant second. So they did the distribution "smartly" here, but idk if I want either enough to bother getting both 2-packs.
Oh, well. I figure someone's gonna want a Megatron.

I'm not disinterested in the concept of the toyline but Hearts of Steel interested me more as a story than the aesthetic since everyone was their G1 selves with lots of rivets. I like Bumblebee but not enough to buy the other guys. Prime's train wearing a top hat isn't ideal and Starscream and Megatron are just crumpled up robots.
My opinion on HOS also got tainted something fierce by my disdain for IDW's ridiculous level of retconning everything into Shockwave's fault.

I'm far less bothered by them admitting that they're going to do Optimus, Megatron, Bumblebee, and Starscream then most.
I'd love more characters of course, but these designs look fun and I'm curious to see what they churn out for more time periods.

That was one of the "death by a thousand cuts" that turned IDW from "the bestest ever" to "ok no one is telling you guys 'no' and they really should be."

George was just making stuff up whole cloth. This is more like the people who decided that Boba Fett was eaten by the Sarlacc, escaped and ended up eaten by another Sarlacc because the timelines didn't exactly match up.

In addition to being a totally awesome badass that everyone loves, Boba Sue is also delicious.
