Couple of new pictures showed up online today. Looks impressive. I know it would be a 3 or 4 year process....but I would love a God Ginrai and Overlord.

Gosh I'm torn on what to call the little guys. Fixit and Seawatch are two of my favorite micromasters but the name Pipo is so darn cute.

-ZacWilliam, i love that at least one Micromaster team got completed well.

Donut , Smoker, Floater, and Pillpusher. With extra special UK-Exclusive sticker that goes over the original names before just cancelling their release!

If it helps, Boater is definitely colored like anime Boater and not Seawatch/toy Boater.

Now some in hand pictures. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks he starts gracing us with his presence.

Those of us in the UK got to wait until about feb due to some delay, likely due to the number of units they had to put into production and getting them shipped out, of course, I am curious about his transformation, thus far, I not seen an actual transformation video of him, seen both modes and all of his extras, the Micromasters are easy enough to figure out but I am wanting to see a full blown transformation of this guy as I sit and wait for my copy!

I wonder how they pick the shipping order. Who ordered first? Alphabetical? Geographical? It's the little things in life.

The names were engraved on ingots of gold and cast into the fiery smelting pools, where the flames and smoke leaping from the caldron formed the address of the Chosen One who would receive the Emperor's Gift. But sometimes the ritual went wrong, and those who sought this boon instead had their minds blasted by secrets man was not meant to know...

"Now wait just a second...Galvatron was in the scene cheering for Cyclonus's plan to go RESCUE Galvatron...he's not mad, he was just playing everyone, and Cyclonus was in on it the WHOLE TIME...."

So, not really having paid very close attention to this whole thing, on account of not being able to afford it and all... why did this need to be HasLab?

Like, honest question. I seriously don't know. Is it just a ton of parts for some reason (given the original was a regular retail release, yeah?)?

It is large in size and parts count and complex beyond the ability to fit at a modern retail size class. What could be sold at retail when the original came out vs now are two entirely different things, totally different environment and guidelines. Not to mention a modern fully poseable toy is very different from a G1 style toy in parts count, complexity and necessary price/cost.

They have said their original plan was to do him at retail but it would of necessity been a much simpler and "compromised" version and they thought he was a strong enough character that they could justify doing him "perfect" as a Haslab VS just ok at retail.

-ZacWilliam, so he didn't necessarily HAVE to be a Haslab but making him one assured he was the best he could be.

Yeah - they said his retail release would've been a remold/repaint of Grimlock.

The answer to "why" for every Haslab is ultimately the same: we don't live in the eighties any more and the toy industry has shifted dramatically since then (or even since the early aughts). No Haslabs could exist in the form we got them in today's retail environment be it due to sheer size, parts count/complexity or price.

In this case, he's not that big but he's quite complex with lots of paint apps which would put him at the Titan price point without the shelf-presence to support it.
