I think I'm going to pull the trigger. I am just trying to decide if I want to pick up an extra one to sell. If I would have done that with some of the other HasLabs, I could have made a good chuck of my money back by selling the extra one. It is just a lot of upfront investment to pull that off.

I'm still waffling. Knowing that the components are closer to Voyager than Deluxe helps justify the price a bit more. Honestly, if I KNEW that it came with all 7 figures, I'd be in. Knowing that Deathcobra is a maybe is what's keeping me at maybe. $300 for 7 Voyagers is easier to swallow than $300 for 6.

I feel the exact same way. I know it is silly, but $43 per voyager scale figure is much easier to swallow than $50. I know it is up in the air, but I can't see this NOT hitting 13000 backers. More than that gets a little harder, but the latter 2 tiers aren't that exciting to me anyway. I almost wish the stand was the 2nd tier instead of the spears.

Agreed. The spear and stand I don't care much about either way. I'd take them, but I would shed no tears over not getting them.

Reminder that you don't get charged until the campaign is over. You can grab it now and help push it to 13000 and if it doesn't look like it's going to make it, you can always cancel.

That's true. Truth be told, I keep inching closer and closer to the "support" side, so I probably will. Just trying to keep up the illusion of self control for a couple of days.

This is why I went back to see what I did for TFSS 4.0 (an exclusive combiner, back then it was seven deluxes and a Voyager). Double checking, I made a mistake in my initial posting, but I still think they're roughly comparable. Except they didn't have a lot of 'new' weapons, mostly Bludgeon's swords recycled from a dragon Optimus, and recolors of Scoop's targetmasters. And they were all just repaints or head-remolds. It was $297 in 2015. So $299.99 isn't that bad, and honestly a bit better if you consider they're new molds (sharing some parts between members of the set, obviously), with their new-mold animal buddies. It's really NOT bad if they do the all-new-mold extra figure, the weapons, and the base. I do agree it's expensive, but it does fit with prior offerings and actually improves on the package a bit.

I plan to get just ONE, for myself. The problems with planning for resale is that you have to hold onto it for a while, if you open it to see that all parts are there people will complain it's not 'MSIB', if you don't and something's missing, they take it out on you for not checking even though you couldn't without opening it, and Ebay takes a bite, shipping takes a bite (especially for a box this big), etc. Resale of toys, which I've done for years, has been a diminishing return...

I used to use eBay for this kind of thing all the time back in the Fun Pub era (although admittedly more for BotCon sets than for TFSS). It was such a pain, when I've had toys I want to get rid of these days, I just take them to BookOff. I know I'm getting a fair bit less for them than I'd have gotten from eBay, but I don't waste all that time taking pictures, waiting until the sale is over, finding a box, packing it, printing postage, and taking to the Post Office during their few open hours when I don't have to be at work. (Admittedly, I DID sometimes bypass this last step by having the postal worker pick the box up from my doorstep, but that was always at the risk of porch pirates).

It's REALLY hard to imagine wanting to go through all that hassle for a HasLab (where I can't guarantee BookOff's prices would at least recoup my initial investment).

I didn't know what BookOff was, I will look into that. But that's why I'm just going to get one, for ME, and if it somehow does become super-valuable, great. But this time I'm just looking at it for my own shelf. I've gotten very few extras and spares anymore. A lot say "In case of breakage or QC" but that's why I prefer direct from HasLab, where I can do a return. And if I have a break later, by that point, I probably CAN still get back a lot put in as someone will want a non-mint one for parts and I will still have had my fun with it.

Yeah, I can't justify a speculative purchase, but I'm leaning hard into backing this one. The biggest issue, for me, at least, is that it has to make Tier 1 and guarantee DeathCobra to be "worth it"; I have the CW-era Liokaiser set, the Botcon Energon Leozack, and at least a couple of the undersized knockoffs with the Doubledealer Hellbat (now THERE would be an awesome stretch tier...). The only character I don't have representation for is DeathCobra, and I feel like it's a pretty big deal that he's getting made, and I want to support that. The rest of the Breastforce looks like a worthy set despite its flaws, so for all 7 characters and their breast animals in one unified set, I feel like I can justify the $300, just barely.

If it doesn't make it, don't they effectively do that for you, anyway?

They cancel the order if it fails to get the 10k needed for funding. But if your backing is contingent on unlocking the 13k tier and it ends up at something like 12k, you're potentially still on the hook for something you don't want.

It's a moot point though. We've seen how these projects go. The last three Transformers HasLabs have ended with around five to seven times the first-day numbers. There's no real reason to doubt this will unlock all the tiers.

TFW user TranslucentBag has been consistently charting the funding progress for all the TF HasLabs. He's started up again for Liokaiser. So far, he's right about in line with Victory Saber and Deathsaurus. Here's his latest chart:

They do, but people who think it is only worth it if DeathCobra is funded would be out of luck if the campaign only makes it to say 11,000. I'm not waffling because I'm not sure it will get funded. Waffling is just something I do with any purchase of this size.

As I say that, I think I'm heading over to Pulse to pull the trigger now.

Serious question, I've never ordered 2 of something on Pulse before. If I were to order 2 LioKaisers in the same transaction, can I cancel just one of them, or would I have to cancel my entire order and reorder a single one?

Best way i know of is to make them two seperate orders.
