Alcohol seems to contribute to Humor and Fun, making people laugh. I also heard it helped build America. Workers would imbibe after work and this helped them to succeed:

Jesus was pro-alcohol; he turned water into wine to keep the party going. I think homeless people or people who go ice fishing in freezing cold climates use it to help them survive.

Alcohol appears to be MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE.

Oh, and speaking of fun, Saboton did a song written ENTIRELY using titles of other metal songs:

A song using the names of ~60 other bands to make the lyrics:

AND a song consisting entirely of lyrics form other rock and metal songs!

Speaking of Metallica, you ever heard of Van Canto? Basically a metal group, but the only actual instrument is drums. Everything else is done only with their voices. And they do quite a few covers.

I actually really like their cover of Fear of the Dark:

And they actually got Sabaton's singer in for the cover of one of their songs:

Though Joakim does like to cameo in other groups a lot:

This stuff is too strong for me.

I only listened to Metallica during the short period of time circa 1991 when they mellowed down their music to make it popular with the mainstream. They were seen as selling out by their heavy metal fans when they debuted:

but us “normies” liked it.

The great thing about metal bands mostly being nerds is you get songs related to and about all sorts of games you already enjoy, for a double layer of enjoyment.

Elder Scrolls Online:

Diablo 3:

Zelda: Ocarina of Time:

ANd some games even have actual metal bands in-world(you can actually attend their concerts in-game!) and in lore:

WoW has the Elite Tauren Chieftains:

and Guild Wars 2 has the Metal Legion

Note: Metal Legion is also an example of what -I- consider hard when it comes to metal.

1) he's black. he can make jokes like this. 2) he didn't make any cracks about having "junk food and a weight problem." that was you, and unless you're black, it's really not cool to make jokes like that.

It was not a joke. That was what was said and what he was called when Bill Clinton was actually President:

In 1998, Nobel Prize-winning author Toni Morrison in The New Yorker called Clinton "the first Black president", saying, "Clinton displays almost every trope of blackness: single-parent household, born poor, working-class, saxophone-playing, McDonald's-and-junk-food-loving boy from Arkansas," and comparing Clinton's sex ...

Anyone who was alive and coherent back then knows this. I was alive and lived through the entirety of Bill Clinton’s presidency. Black people loved Bill Clinton because his policies helped them. I’m guessing that’s why he was being called this back then. It was a compliment to him, not a joke.

Okay, gotcha. For what it's worth, she's also black, and from the "them" bit I'm assuming you aren't.
