I didn’t say all the far-left are a/s. However, antisemitism is unfortunately a deeply embedded trope on the far-left, particularly the Marxist far-left. It’s less based on notions of outright biological racism than far-right antisemitism, but just as deep in the conspiratorial, “cunning global Jewry secretly control the world” mindset.

Antisemitism is very, very old. All current political systems, our entire concept of a "left-right" spectrum, postdate it and were built on top of it. There is an immense amount of antisemitism on the Left, and the more Extremely Online they get, the worse it is.

Apparently because it matches the color of their flag the watermelon is a symbol the Palestinians adopted over there, but putting this on a poster in regards to a black politician is a deliberate choice with a much different meaning over here and I don't believe for a second the hyper vigilant self-styled anti-racist lefties just made an oopsie.

But even if you're right, is that really the bigger story compared to the fact that prominent Democrats are appearing with John ******* Hagee, who is definitely a bigot in general and an antisemite in particular?

Hagee is an antisemite and should not have been there. And it's a shame that he was there to serve as a distraction from the largest Jewish gathering in American history, that had otherwise been carefully cultivated to go across the entire community spectrum, from Peace Now to ZOA.

as a leftist, the fact that there's people on the left genuinely propagating the idea that leftists shouldn't vote for "genocide joe" and just let trump win shows they're either:
  1. So blackpilled by doomerism that they genuinely can't see the difference between worthless but not actively genocidal neolibs and genocidally insane Christofascist ghouls who are chomping at the bit to do some mass killings
  2. Are blissfully ignorant of project 2025 and agenda 47 and what'll happen to them if those are enacted (hint: it involves a lot of people dying)
  3. Palestinian-Americans and Islamic-Americans who understandably feel betrayed by the Dems supporting Netanyahu
  4. cynical grifters who aren't in any of the groups the GQP wants to genocide (or don't live in the US) and don't give a rat's ass that the marginalized people they claim they support will be holocausted by the Christian Reich.
I have sympathy for the first three groups (I've struggled with doomism myself, and I still do; I've had to have good friends talk me out of it twice this month), and I definitely see where the third group (Palestinian-Americans and Islamic-Americans) is coming from and sympathize with them the most of all. I only have scorn for the grifters.

not to mention that if he wins, Trump'd just nuke the Gaza strip to kill some Muslims for his Christofascist base. and probably "accidentally" nuke Israel to make the actual ******* Nazis in his base happy.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Democrats will abandon their guy on principle, Republicans will abandon principles for their guy. That one difference as how Republicans keep getting worse and Democrats keep losing elections.

The 4-day ceasefire is to begin at 10am local time Thursday. Hamas to release 50 women and children hostages, Israel to release 150 women and children prisoners (none who have been convicted of murder). After the 4 days, the ceasefire could be extended by one extra day per every 10 hostages released, to a theoretical max of 10 days. Then most likely, fighting resumes on the current lines. Hezbollah has said they will abide by the ceasefire as well.

Yeah, but will hamas? I suspect every time the IDF is forced to actually defend itself over the next few days, it's just going to be blamed on militants that were out of control and used as an opportunity to farm rage on the international stage.

I mean... just finding the corpses of some of the hostages, and hamas leadership going on record saying "we're going to repeat the oct 7th attack" was enough for me. But given they have a history of violating the agreements they make... yeah.

I think it might last longer than back in 2014; cause there's been a LOT of fighting so far, but I'd be surprised if it goes as stated.

Edit: besides; hamas will never return all the hostages. Human shields are kinda their thing, and if they have no problem using their own people for it, why would they have a problem with the people they are actively attempting genocide against?

I remember being lectured about Palestine on this board via links to Rense, an actual Holocaust denial / Protocols of Zion site. I wonder if that person is still here, and if he has learned anything....
