It really does say something about the modern world that a speech about grand efforts to make the world a better place always comes across as a threat now. I suspect we're starting to recognize that there is no such thing in the real world as a powerful hero—that power is something only villains have and that the good guys are always going to be the underdogs. So anyone with the means to make a grand effort towards anything could not possibly have the good intentions they claim.
Trying to lighten the mood a bit.
Only slightly.
This is bordering on being political, so I'll just put it here to be on the safe side.
Mossad, FSB and CIA are having a competition to find out which of them is the best agency.
The task: Go into a forest and kill a boar, with the most efficient use of tools and weapons possible.
Mossad goes first. After only twenty minutes, they return with a boar. Headshot.
FSB goes next. There's lots of gunfire and explosions, flashing lights, screams and grunts. Hours later, half the forest is razed. They return with a bloody pile, with a few bristles sticking out. A DNA test confirms that yes, this indeed used to be a boar.
CIA goes in. Hours pass, not a single sign of them. Morning comes, they still haven't returned. Mossad and FSB organize a rescue party and find them in a clearing, along with a captured deer that is wearing a bag over its head and is showing signs of heavy torture. One of the CIA agents keeps yelling at the deer: "Admit it already, you're a boar!"
