So, as many of you know, I haven't had the best of luck with jobs the past year. Left the hellhole prison I used to work at for Parole, only to be fired for "intimidating tone". (the lawsuit is pending). From there I went to a local county jail, doing the same work I left for less pay and, amazingly enough, less respect.
I've been working nights on 12s and it has been rough for me, for my family. I have emphatically not been having a good time.
Well, after papering North East Kansas with my resume, finally I got a bite. And after some work and some time, I've finally achieved a goal I've had for a very long time.
As of this past Thursday I am a duly sworn in peace officer for the city of Council Grove Kansas. I'll get the chance to go to the KLETC Academy probably next month to receive my full certification.
So not only have I finally gotten my dream job, but I'll be able to move far enough away that I won't have to deal with any lingering BS from exes and former coworkers. Council Grove is a idyllic small town in the Flint Hills with a beautiful lake (so I get to do lake patrol on a boat!). Finally things are looking up!
