My biggest issue with G1 Powermaster Prime was the trailer hitch, I think because it connected so high up on that swing arm, that pulling/pushing the truck (I was a kid) leveraged it and eventually snapped the peg. It is a plain 5mm peg in a 5mm hole, so it won't fall out like the original, it will hang on till it breaks off in the socket.

Careful yours doesn't end up breaking like mine did (well I don't have Fire Guts, I just got the regular God Ginrai reissue)

Mind you it didn't break in a way that ruined the toy or whatever, it still works and looks fine but it still did break.
I have the Hasbro Commemorative Series reissue. What should we look out for to prevent breakage?

I'll admit it was probably bad luck in my case, but back like a year ago, I was transforming him for the first time in a good while and his super mode legs were REALLY tight and hard to swing out for the base mode and I was being hella careful but there are pegs inside the leg that are screwed in place and one of them snapped and broke on his right leg (left leg if you're looking at him from the front) and yeah now that leg (below the thighs) can just come off because that peg snapped.

Like I said, it literally doesn't affect anything, the breakage was on the inside of the leg (so you're never gonna see it) and the way the lower leg attaches to the upper leg is tight enough that like...yeah I can now remove that super mode leg but it doesn't just...slide off randomly.

I don't actually have Ginrai on-hand to take a photo to show what broke (still waiting for it and all my other jive to be delivered by the movers - WE PACKED IN SEPTEMBER BTW, IT'S NOVEMBER NOW IF YOU HADN'T NOTICED) but yeah.

Really was a minor breakage that doesn't affect anything but it is still breakage.

Finding those Unicron pics made me want to go digging. I found a few other old pictures. Some very, very old...

Christmases in the 80s. Clearly, I was on the Decepticons' side right from the start.

I'm still disappointed they never made a Scourge combiner limb.

I vaguely remember that my childhood PMOP's leg flaps stayed up in base mode. But it's been a long time, I'm not sure what bin what's left of that toy is in down in the basement, and even if I could find it, age might've loosened the joints enough by now that they wouldn't stay up anyway. Or rusted the pins enough that they'd stay up from the increased friction.
Thinking back, I remember on mine, I believe one stayed put while the other drooped.

And I see so many pics where they're like that, and I'm just like "Is that how it's supposed to be?"

Yeah, Hasbro simply wasn't taking gravity into account when they designed those flaps to have no locking mechanisms way back in 1988.

Gravity wasn't discovered until Throckmorton Q. Downwardson looked up one day and just said "Nope" so hard that he immediately stuck to the ground.

I thought Sir Isaac Newton was the guy who invented gravity.

Just like how Benjamin Franklin was the guy who invented lightning.
