I've said before, but he's easily in my top 5 Commanders.

In no certain order: Magmatron, Sky Lynx, 86 Prime, Ultra Magnus, and Rodimus Prime. The first four are ones that I just feel go completely above and beyond for the class; with Prime and Magnus both being MP worthy imo. And Rodimus becuase he's really just the first good Rodimus Prime toy. While the others I feel are kinda standard. Not in a bad way. Jetfire's kinda my measuring stick for what the class should be, Armada Prime is pretty much even with Jetfire as while really good, he doesn;t really do anything to stand out either. And Motormaster is the weakest of them, but I feel that shouldn't count against him as that's more my bias then anything really bad with him.

While there's not been a bad Commander Class toy, right now I feel like Silverbolt might take that, just becuase while he has the same flaws imo as Motormaster, his are more forced. Not sure where Hook and Long Haul will fall between them.

That Magmatron has to be one of the best looking remakes they've come out with in years. I think that and I don't even OWN one...
I don't own one either. I had the original several years back and ended up selling him. At the time, I was selling off a lot of my beasts as they just weren't what I was looking for any longer in my collection. I've kind of moved back the other way a bit and do have some beasts again, but I still couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger on a $90 that I only had mild interest in. I had hoped he'd go on a nice, deep clearance sale, but that just hasn't happened.

I sprung for him because, while I don't really actively collect Beast-formers, I have been a hardcore dinosaur junkie since birth. I have no regrets, he really is an absolute delight in all modes.

Yeah, he does look really nice. I bought the OG from Target back in the day and liked it well enough. Like Gizmoboy though, I sold mine off sometime in the mid 2000s, because I was paring back my Beast-Era collection. I don't regret selling it, as I really never intereacted much with it. But yes, had the modern update gone on a deep clearance, I would have jumped on it.

I had a similar issue, I had the original from the Hasbro Collector's site of the time (same as the Target one, I think, except different box). Sold it and many other beasts during the crisis issues popping up. The only Beast Wars stuff I have left is a few Cheetor's I painted myself and a Target Nemesis Prime, and with how things are going, I may not have the Prime much longer. My nephew does have several of the modern Beast Wars remakes, but not Magmatron. Just this week, I wound up fixing purple-dino Megatron, turns out the hip parts for Rex mode are only held on by one very short pin that comes out way too easily. I'm hesitant to re-buy a toy I sold, because I don't have a huge amount of spare cash and I start to question, if I got rid of it in the first place without a replacement on the horizon, will I really be that enthused anyway?

Still, that remake is really amazing and clearly poses so much better...

And re: Pac Man ceral, it just seems too dangerous. If you don't eat a Power Pellet before you eat the cereal, the cereal might eat YOU and then your eyes would float away...
