I never really found the time limit to be a problem. Except for the Anju and Kafei quest, but that one's just because it has to be done twice to get everything. And you do want that Fierce Deity Mask, right?

adventure of link, phantom hourglass, spirit tracks and tri force heroes are the only bad zeldas IMO. i will say twilight princess is kinda weak in comparison to the other 3D zeldas, but it's not a bad game, just kinda disappointing in comparison to ocarina, majora's mask and especially wind waker (which was my uncontested favorite zelda before BOTW)

I rather enjoyed TP. Midna is hands sown my favorite companion. The only part I really don't like (and stopped my third play through in its tracks) was Zant's Hand. But I have to say OoT was my uncontested favorite until BotW. But that's for some rather biased reasons.

I was in college and wasn't planning on keeping up with console generations now that I was having to pay for things with my own money. But my best friend to this day I met through her fan art and fanfic of OoT. Thus the N64 became the first console I bought with my own money and OoT was the first game I bought for that console.

So it took a hell of a lot for BotW to dethrone OoT as my #1 favorite Zelda game...and I still love OoT.

I remember Wind Waker's enemy AI seeming very impressive at the time. Enemies have a sense of self preservation. They fear your bombs. They fear if a wooden bridge they're standing on becomes unsafe. They will try to fight you by hand if they lose their weapon but will look for an opening to run away and grab another weapon. Any weapon. Their programming is not tied to their own weapon. They look for something and grab whatever's available. It was cool.

It's always interesting to me how BOTW dislikers will complain about how it's 'not Zelda' when it's the closest game to the original NES game.

So when they say 'it's not Zelda' they mean 'it's not a LTTP/OOT clone'.

I like how most of the puzzles in the original game are "Just somehow know to do this." Maybe the npcs gave more intelligible advice in Japanese.

Even when they tried to give hints, they weren't useful half the time. I especially liked how they tell you to use a whistle on Pol's Voice even though A: the whistle did nothing to it, B: arrows did the trick instead, and C: it was originally tied to a microphone in the Famicom controller that was removed from the NES version, but the translators either didn't get the memo or just didn't care.

I am Error.

Not actually an error because there's another character named Bug in the Japanese version but the English translation just directly romanized バグ as Bagu instead of translating it as Bug. It's also not a mistranslation either.

There's no coffee in the everglades so I do have to venture out into civilization from time to time.
