So I am watching this episode about Stadium Events, and they talk to the guy at Nintendo who was in charge of destroying the games after they were recalled when Nintendo bought it from Bandai and rebranded it as track field. He saved a few copies for himself, and sold them years later.

Anyways, this reminds me of something from my childhood. My grandparents had a salvage and recycling yard in Florida, and I was wandering around there in spring of 1991. I was wandering around the scrap area, and found a few cases of Atari 2600 video games. These were all Keystone Kapers, and were sent there to be destroyed, as the games had been out for 8 years at this point, and the NES was the only game console people cared about (Although, the Genesis was out and the SNES was coming out that fall) . I was excited, as we still hadn't got the NES yet(despite it being almost done), so the 2600, Commadore 64, and Gameboy were our gaming systems still. My grandfather gave me a copy as I was really excited about it. I took it home and played it that night and the whole family really enjoyed the game.

I wonder what other games they destroyed there, so I should probably ask my uncle about that while he is still around to answer.

Well, it has been a while since I went to the local game exchange, so I made a trip at lunch time. They had moved everything around since the last time I was there, but the selection was still good. I did get something that surprisingly wasn't on my wishlist, Megaman X for the SNES. They had it for $25, so I thought why not. They had some rare games there and some boxed ones. Earthbound for $319 was kind of tempting, but out of my price range for casual shopping.

Wait.

You didn't have Mega Man X already...

...and it wasn't on your wish list?

I had hoped it wouldn't come to this, but as the resident Mega Man guy, I know I must fulfill my sworn obligation...

Yeah, that's fair.

I only ever rented Mega Man II before I ever owned the collection on GameCube. Then I got subsequent collections on Nintendo/Sony consoles.

But the very first MM game I ever owned was the DOS game. I honestly regret not having a computer that can run it now.

I mean to be fair, not all games are for everyone. There are things about the MegaMan games people don't like that I can't fault them for.

I have my share of popular franchises that I just can't get into.

Most people regret it when they have a computer that can.

But for real, though, this might be of interest to you, even if it's not exactly the same.

Lol, I never played Megaman X back in the day, so it wasn't on my nostalgia radar like the NES and Gameboy games were. Also, every time I saw in person, they wanted $50- $75 for it. But most likely, my SNES wish list needs to be updated to include some of the more iconic games.
