I didn't realize the timeline. And honestly, it was amazing what they were able to pack into an Advance game. I guess my little Nintendo fanboy self was hoping I could give the Advance port a win on something. I guess, win for being first and for packing so much into an Advance cart?

And it's nice to have a copy again. The title sticker on the cartridge is different from the one I had before. Not sure if that's down to multiple releases or if maybe I scored a bootleg.

This is what I got.

This is what I used to have before.

I bought a couple of collected volumes of Street Fighter comics on Kindle yesterday. I made it here earlier this morning.

Did I ever mention I ship Chun Li and Cammy really hard? This cover is enabling me.

So Street Fighter 6 got Terry and Mai. Fatal Fury is going to get Ken and Chin Li. Any way we could just merge companies and have one big happy family? I mean, by the looks of it, it seems like they share the same universe anyway.

I don't know how well that would work out, particularly for SNK fans.

Just ask fans of DarkStalkers, Power Stone... really, just any fighting game from Capcom that isn't Street Fighter or a crossover.

True. Well, I guess as long as they keep the crossovers coming that's fine. I was just surprised when Terry's story mode showed he and Ken were already buddies as though Capcom vs. SNK was canon.

So I'm hoping to understand the various versions of Street Fighter games a little better. I'd always assumed any game with a unique number was considered a new, unique game with its own story content (such as it is), while all the various Super/Ultra SF CE/AE/Turbo/Etc. games were just updates with additional characters, gameplay modifications, balance tweaks, etc. while still covering the same story content.

However, I was just reading something the other day that makes it quite a bit muddier. If I understood correctly, sometimes games with the same numbers can be sequels to each other, while some games with different numbers can be updates of previous games? Specifically, I read the following:

SF Alpha 2 is an update to SF Alpha 1. SF Alpha 3 is a sequel to SF Alpha 2.
SF3 2nd Impact is an update to SF3. SF3 3rd Strike is a sequel to SF3 2nd Impact.
Super SF IV is a sequel to SF IV. All other SF4 games (Arcade Edition, Ultra, etc.) are updates to SSF4.

So if I understood right, if you wanted to put together a canon timeline of SF games, it would go like this:

SF1
SF Alpha 2
SF Alpha 3
SF2 (whatever the latest version is?)
SF4 (base game)
Ultra SF4
SF5*
SF3 2nd Impact
SF3 3rd Strike
SF6

Is that right? Seems very odd, if so.

*Also, what I read was from before SF5. How do its updates fit into this?

I don't have those figures. I only have Street Fighter Ex 3 and I really didn't feel like going through the hassle of firing up my POS PS2 to do a count.

But hey, if you have those figures...by all means!

Not really what I meant. But hey, if we're talking about toys anyways....I'll...take a pic when I get home. I honestly forget what all I jave. I have Ryu and Chun Li Street Fighter IV toys. The rest are a bunch of PoP figures and blind box toys.

There is a Jada Cammy figure on Amazon I'm looking at maybe getting come payday.

I must've gotten rid of my blind box stuff. At least I can't seem to find them. All I can find are my PoP figures and my two SF IV toys. Hopefully I find them at some point, because I hate the thought that maybe I got rid of them.

So just curious, for those who played/are playing Street Fighter 6, how many of you played/are playing WorldTour mode.

It was never my favorite mode, but I still played it until I ran into a brick wall. But I picked it up again the past couple days and now I'm having the bright idea to just grind until I'm way overleveled and see where that puts me.

Still not my favorite mode, but it's something I can pickup and do for a few minutes and put back down.

Wow! I just broke through the brick wall! I guess I was finally leveled enough. World Tour is still not my favorite mode though. I honestly don't know why I'm doing this to myself.
