I had the Kingdom version but swapped it out with the Selects toy colour version because I've always been a toy deco guy and Kingdom Galvy's shade of purple was just really unappealing.

SS '86 Galvy's shade of blurple looks really nice though, and I wouldn't mind picking him up.

Wish he had a new head like it looked like he did but oh well, it still looks great.

I'm also a toy deco guy! The Selects Cyclonus really scratched that nostalgia itch with the stickers as well.

I'm still frustrated that no one did a good toy-based sticker set to use on SS86 Sweep. I'm so disappointed in Toyhax over that one. It would really complete the set with Galvatron and Cyclonus. I've seen a water-slide decal set that looks decent, but I hate those even worse than I normally hate stickers.

I went for both.

Partly because I love Galvatron in general, but never had his toy when I was a kid (Cyclonus had to lead in his stead).

But also partly because it's so easy to have two differently-colored Galvatrons and have them essentially be two different characters.

I just can't decide which one is the rebirth of Megatron -- cartoon says it would be the purple one, but the toy colors also match up with Megatron so very well that he kind of looks like an upgraded Megatron more than his cartoon counterpart.

On the other hand, the toy bio really painted him as a separate guy, and IDW ran with that, so I really like that aspect as well.

My head canon is that purple Galvatron is the original Galvatron design after Unicron reformatted Megatron. Toy colours Galvatron is Galvatron after his madness was cured and he regained his full memories and past identity as Megatron, hence the closer to Megs colour scheme.

TR Galvatron, with his more stylized design and the IDW-esque ToyHax helmet piece, is Galvy as a distinct character.

Maybe the toy verison could be Megatron's cousin twice removed? 😁

I have Legacy, Selects, Behold, and Straxus. This new SS86 one is what I wished Kingdom/Legacy had been in the first place.

I do like the Legacy one. It hits all the right Galvatron notes for me. Kingdom, as seen in the Picture thread, is displayed in cannon mode in one of my display cubes. He will probably never be transformed again by me.

Which is bonkers, as they went and made their own set for Selects Cyclonus because the one it came with was too moderate and restrained.

I see you too are a man of culture.
You might be pleased to see this if you haven't already:

Toy Galvatron always seemed more regal and dignified as a character design, and with this head it becomes even easier to imagine him as a different character entirely. One could even imagine this being what Megatron could have become, had he not turned to evil (or at least neutral-evil?).

Gotta say, I really don't need or want any of these offerings. That Galvatron mold remains one of my favorites, but I don't need a fourth. I don't want or need anything from the Bay movies aside an apology from both Bay and Lorenzo. That scorpion mold is okay, but one is enough.

So . . . yeah, guess I'll just go sit in the corner and wait for Devy.

If he came with the original toys gun, articulate fingers and a longer handle I'd have considered buying the SS86 one.

I pre-ordered Hatchet. I'm not a big fan of the Bayverse or that aesthetic, but darn it, I'm a sucker for a vehicle that has an animal robot mode.

Studio series toys recently got a price cut in our country. If it ends up being as significant as the deluxes and Voyagers, I’d bite. That said, I can live with Kingdom Galvatron even if he’s the exact shade of Grimace purple

I have no interest in Hatchet but I'm glad Hasbro didn't give up on it.

What's left from the MIA list? Targetmaster Hot Rod?

I think he was just referring MIA figures in general, not specifically studio series.

EDIT: Also I think it might be time to retire the studio series name as a "only the movies" kind of thing. Once they let in "game studios" it makes no sense to not let in "tv studios."
