Sorry for your loss.

We had to spend a few hours Saturday night comforting my oldest after a hawk ate her favorite chicken, a Silkie called Pepper. We had to stop letting the chickens free range after that, especially when the hawk came back the next day while we were outside. My oldest came out of the house with Fury wanting to rip that hawk apart with her bare hands. After that we got the yard cleared out and moved the second chicken coup/run near the first one to keep all of the chickens inside until I can build another area for them to be in. That will have to wait until next weekend or later. This, along with losing a few chickens to disease and heat, we are down to 19 chickens in the back yard plus the ones at my in law's house.

Pepper is the dark colored chicken behind the white and orange ones.

Finally took the kitten to get fixed this weekend. Got a little annoyed with the vet for doing $130 in extra services without asking, doubling the price. Then the lady at the front gave me attitude to the point where I had to step away before I verbally tore this lady a new one.

Then we have spent the entire weekend trying to keep her form licking her wounds. We used a large sock, and it was quite effective.
