Couldn't Hasbro just swap the wings and lower legs from the Thrust mold to the Seeker mold?

It depends on how the moulds are gated off, IIRC. I could be wrong, but it's possible that they just can't do that without creating a lot of excess product.

Any indication of why they didn't just make that jet mode piece standard to suit both head sculpts?

No idea but it's not limited to Hasbro. Bandai's Dragon Stars line made two Vegetas that had different ball sockets in the neck, making head swapping impossible. 'cause why would anyone want to swap heads on Dragon Ball figures?

IIRC Star Wars figures had inconsistent neck-balljoints years ago, even with figures (like Clones) you'd expect to use similar tooling.

You'd think there'd be standard sizes for these things, but excepting explicitly part-swapping toylines (Hero/Mix Mashers, Xevoz, etc.) there apparently isn't.

I get it in the past, when everything had to be made from the ground up, but the ER Seekers were designed well into the CAD era. They could have had uniformity from go, but just... didn't.

How much retooling would it take to turn Sky Lynx into the Giant Purple Griffin? CW seems like it'd be easier (and is already griffinish, being a winged quadruped) but not as giant.

From last page - dig both the color variations, and this has helped me pin down what bugs me about this mold. It's kind of like the old DOTM deluxe prime; the wheelbase is way too long because the legs don't meaningfully collapse in any way.

I'd take a whole sublne of "nightwatch" figures in cool blues, greens, and blacks. Nightwatch Cliffjumper could double as Tap-out and Bumblebee would double as Glyph.

I know they were never actually that common, but I do miss the less-conventional OP redecos. These days it's movie-or-G1, Nemesis, maaaaaybe a Toxitron if we're lucky. I'd buy more mainline Optimii if we got things like G2 Hero white-and-stripes, Nightwatch, Elite Guard/YOTH with the darker tones and gold, Diaclone, heck, even Naked Ultra Magnus or the weirdo Yellow Sentinel redeco that Missing Link did.

Sure wouldn't mind an inner robot Magnus and a Pepsi Convoy out of the Earthrise mold. The main redeco I want out of the Commander class Armada OP is the Costco 2-pack hazmat one. I'm glad we're getting a Nemesis deco from the Animated one, but I'd love to see an Elite Guard colors one at some point too.
