The Twit destroying Twitter is a Twaitor

Elon is, in fact, NOT lying about it. He literally has no ******* clue what he's talking about, so he can't lie about it.

The above statement also applies to everything musk has ever done to date.

I wonder how that gets counted, considering I always have Tweeteck on a background tab, and as of right now it's still working for me.
That is a really great question. If I hit reload on my Twitter home page with 100 tweets on it, does that use another 100 of my allowance of tweets? I'm assuming "yes".

When someone replies to a tweet from two years ago, and Twitter shows me both the ancient tweet and the reply, does that count as one or two hits against my allowance?

Do the embeds I'm viewing on here count against my total, even though they're loading for people who already hit 600 tweets?

What use is a social media website if you can't see the social media?

I think Space Wanker’s intent on making Twitter subscription (“premium”) only, and at first making it as unusable as possible for the masses used to social media being free. Good luck with that one Elmo, as that strategy has always worked out well…

The same places they have been:

Facebook for the really old
TikTok for the kids
CoHost/Tumblr/Instagram/<insert gallery site> for the artists
Mastodon for the techies/furries and friends/nerds
Bluesky(eventually) for those who HAVE to have Twitter work exactly the same and can either mooch invites or wait on a huge waiting list/maybe techbros?
Musktwitter for Elon fanboys, because let's be real, they'll keep going until it literally doesn't exist
Discord for the communities that would be better suited by forums but refuse to admit that/friend groups that don't need to follow anyone else and actually are better served by nuIRC

Also Facebook is supposed to be tieing into the Fediverse(aka what Mastodon uses) BUT from everything I heard they're only going to ingest posts, but not actually send the replies out to servers still federated with them, so if you want to see some FB user said on your thread you would need to sign up on THEIR service. Basically a read-only connection to Fedi. Not that it makes a huge difference though, considering there's quite a few instances I know of planning to block FB's servers form talking with theirs as soon as it launches anyways, on general principle.

Its really amazing watching so many social media platforms shoot themselves in the foot all right after another. Imgur then reddit then twitter... discord tried to do it but due to poor moderation managed to avoid it.

So, would you loose your right to vote if you give the kid up for adoption or abandon your family? Would you gain the right to vote if you adopt or become a stepparent? Do you still get to vote if your child dies or if they become an adult? So many questions....

Frankly, you don't have to be a parent to be concerned with the future of humanity or the planet And anyone who thinks so is probably empathy-deficient.

So "New" Tweetdeck loses the ability to have multiple accounts... and it'll be paywalled.
Guess someone finally told emerald boy about it. Looks like it's time for one final pass to get alternate sites for any artists I haven't already picked up elsewhere. Good thing infosec in general already bailed months ago, so I'm not totally losing visibility on malware threat intel from the greater community.

Well ~~datahazard~~ PROBABLY isn't a multibillionaire. Given the name, I'm gonna assume he's a late 90's script kiddie who never grew out of his wanna-be hacker status.

Are we still surprised that Space Wanker has basically fascist, ethnostate-y sort of views? Shouldn’t be.

Anyway, give Mastodon a try? It’s flawed and not a like-for-like replacement for Twitter, but if you can use something as complex as an old-style web forum like this, you can use Mastodon.

If all people need are two generic excuses to be monsters: it's never not the time for monsters.

The sun is shining and the birds are singing: now is the time of monsters.

Even if I agreed with the argument about concern for the future, I would insist that I have the right to vote in my own interests for the present.

Allowing people to vote only if they have children will simply reduce the number of eligible voters to middle class and the rich: because children are expensive and the corporations are pushing towards slavery again.
