And now it's X-tortion time!

Time to find out if any companies even consider the site valuable to maintain a presence on anymore.

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

How is "not policing impersonations" a threat? They already ******* don't. It was literally the first thing they threw out.

Honest to god he's in panic mode. Loans are coming due, people aren't buying what he's selling, and he can't figure it out. At all.

Could've just let the place sit but NOOOOOOOOOOO! Had to attack the lower decks and took on a massive amount of water.

Ironbite-man would've charges into the iceberg if he could've.

The funniest thing about this is watching all the servile dickheads who continue to insist that he's a genius just because he's rich and because Mars. They're going to ride his crashing rocket down to the ground and then claim that was his plan all along.

Even ol' Zuck had the sense to only rename the parent company Meta and not the product itself.
Well, not quite. They did apply the Meta branding to the (formerly Oculus) VR headsets, and it could be argued that since Zuck's "metaverse" pipe dream is what spurred the rename in the first place, he's come to see that as "the product itself" and everything else as just sources of money to funnel into it.

True, but Oculus didn't have nearly the brand recognition that Twitter did. VR is still a niche market despite the fad that occurred several years ago.

One could argue that Quest was a more important part of the branding that Oculus was, at least recently.

He had similar issues back with his old online banking site by same name. A lot of people assumed it was a porn site, not a finance site just due to the name(It's why we have PayPal now, not X, the other executives at the company knew better). Curious how much he paid Paypal to get the x.com domain back.

Its hilarious that he thought everyone would just accept his rebrand and not do something like this.

Ironbite-he has no self awareness.

He has no conception of not being told that he's a great genius and always right. This is a person who offered to buy a social media platform out of pure ego, ran it into the ground because he ignored everyone trying to tell him his ideas were bad, and is suing the lawyers who made him follow through on the buyout because clearly it's their fault he got a bad deal, not his. He's an ego pretending to be a human.

In some ways: he is a victim of the american attitude that the rich are superior to everyone else. I do not feel bad for him at all, and I in fact rooting for his failure. He's a ******* idiot and should never have been in a position to influence culture.
