Wakfu...LIVES!!!
The entirety of Wakfu is now up officially on Youtube!
www.youtube.com
Including season 4. Yes...they FINALLY got out of Inglorium, the realm of the gods! It only took us 7 years!
Most of it's the English dub, which isn't my preferred way of watching this. I really do think the original French is more charming. But...beggars can't be choosers. This is the best way for people to catch up, by far.
A very brief summary for those who have no idea what this is:
Wakfu is based on a series of French MMO RPGs. The story follows Yugo, a young boy with a mysterious past who learns that he has portal-hopping powers. He goes on a quest to learn more about his history and eventually gains a crew of unlikely friends. The first season was highly critically acclaimed at the time for it's outstanding battle choreography and plot.
Wakfu is actually the middle of three "main" entries in this universe. Dofus comes before Wakfu. And Waven is the sequel to Wakfu. "Dofus" refers to magic dragon eggs that are TOTALLY not Dragon Balls at all. "Wakfu" refers to spirit energy, like ki or chakra in other series. And "Waven"...has something to do with a "Great Wave" that changes the Wakfu world again (this world does NOT have a good track record with water), but it's a little unclear. The Waven game is still in beta, and I don't think we know the "plot" yet.
There's actually a huge, sprawling media empire here. There's the spinoff Dofus cartoon and movie, which actually came out after Wakfu started. There's manga and comics. But, let's not worry too much about all that, for now.
This universe features gods, demi-gods, time travel, aliens, robots, emo ogres, demonic swords, and romance! In other words, if you like something, chances are the world of Wakfu features at least a little touch of it. It's highly anime-inspired, with at least one really amazing fight per season. It's a really fun time. I highly recommend it!
Here's links to the season playlists: (Which are not in GREAT order, but it's better than nothing. At least all the episodes are numbered. I'm not sure all the episodes are actually in the right playlists, but they ARE up on Youtube, you might just have to search for them.)
They are missing a few of the Specials. Like the Oropo special and the Dofus movie. But, those are more or less just side stories, even if they are somewhat important to the plot. They are out there though, if you know where to look.

And they're already teasing season 5! I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it, given how long we had to wait for season 4. But, apparently this will explain the transition from the world of Wakfu to the world of Waven.
So, go forth! Embrace your inner oui-aboo! And enjoy some true high-class French cinema!
