Thundercats - General Discussion (and some Silverhawks too, whynot)

Captain Cracker and Polly come from a Pirate Bill Jukes figure from the Hook movie toyline. I couldn't really find the right color for his skin but the Zinc does well I suppose. The figure actually looks better in hand, but the camera really shows all the flaws....I realize the eyepatch is on the wrong side, but hey, it's been a really rough 36 years for the Captain. I think I may remove his pegleg and replace it with an actual polished steel peg. Think I'll keep it removable and make the leg compatible with a blast effect for the occasional rocket-leg getaway....it's almost 2023...why not? *Edit - I also just realized I never put small bolts in his ears/jaw and elbows. I have holes drilled, just need to screw them in.

Y'know, it's probably a good thing the Silverhawks Ultimates got pushed back to next year. Hasbro's rolled a TON of stuff forward, wrecking my budget.

Looks like folks are getting their Thundertanks (tho wheres my shipping notice? I bought mine directly from them, not BBTS like Jay here)

Also Super7 is teasing the next wave of Thundercats Ultimates with an obvious Hachiman.

Yeah, I've only received the "confirm your address" email from S7. Hopefully it'll be otw soon.

Well, seven inch, anyway. Ultimates are in a weird area for scale. Weirder for some than others, Ren and Stimpy were functionally enormous, so were Pinky and the Brain, unless you just consider those two to be 'life size', then they make sense.

I finished my 4" Wizz-Ra a while back, but have been busy with work, so posting got put on the back burner.
Light Fawn Boss Fight Buck and Egyptian kit from Vitruvian Armory. I sculpted the Golden Helmet of Pharnoor, his arm bands, and gauntlets out of golden-glitter hot glue. All are removable in case Mumm-Ra wants to steal the helmet. There's GITD accents, but don't have my blacklight pen to take photos right now. The red on the helmet, his eyes, and the hieroglyphs on his loin cloth all glow. I made the cape out of red parachute material with wiring for posability.

Hulu last I knew. I think they have the original and the 2011 show.
So did HBO Max, last I knew.

Also, WTF Super7. I got Silverhawks wave 2 in my pile of loot, while Wave 1 got delayed AGAIN to almost summer. And no word on wave 3, which would likely help “wrap up” the limited nature of the line. I better not be left hanging without Copper Kid and Flashback!

I'm frustrated that they sent out Thundertanks to BBTS and EE but I've yet to so much as get a shipping notice for my order from them directly. I emailed them on it and they said they'll begin shipping early March. :cautious:

Same with me Dake. Also got a shipping notification for Wave 2 MonStarr from BBTS but no word on Bluegrass or SteelWill which I also ordered directly from Super7.

Guess what arrived a day earlier!

Holy crap, what a homerun!

Packed really well (Haslab could take some notes). Quality is outstanding - hefty, rigid plastic that looks like it could stand up to some real play. I'm talking eighties-era heavy duty. It actually feels beefier than that Mobile Command Center behind it. I wouldn't drop test it though because it might crack a tile. Everything moves freely (Small word of warning, the extendable barrel in the nose cannon needs to be fully telescoped back into place or it will slide forward and block the hatch. It's no problem as you can reach it inside the jaw, but don't force the hatch if it isn't opening).

Tracks roll, but they're pretty stiff. Seems like they slide on most surfaces even with the mass of the tank on them. That being said, I'm ok with it because I think it will help them not get as saggy over time. Be sure to "exercise" the tracks though to keep them from getting permanently deformed around the bogeys.

Enough talk though, here are a few pics (with some other big vehicles for comparison...

Did it come with a samoflange?
It did!

All that Tank needs is its mechanic/driver to take the wheel

I have the main cast (aside from the upcoming Snarf) starting with the original Mattycollector run. After I get the rest of the display bay decorated, I'll finally start cracking open those boxes and Panthro will ride again!
