Train Derailments are uncommon, right??

When that Ohio train with hazmat derailed a couple months ago, I thought it was something that just doesn't happen. Then another happened a few weeks later and now another one in Minnesota. Am I hearing about all of them now because one was a big news story or is there really a strange new deal going on here?

Okay, I googled and answered my own question. Train derailments happen A LOT. It just usually isn't newsworthy.

Also, most derailments are "Oops, a wheel slipped off, gotta stop and get it back on." The ones where cars actually fall over aren't as common, and those aren't generally newsworthy unless there's a hazard of some sort generated (spill, fire, etc). Like, a couple weeks ago there was a derailment here in town where four train cars fell off the track entirely and a major road was blocked for several hours. It made the local news, barely, and more as traffic news.
