While it's probably a bad idea for them to ignore the expediency plea: they had every right to do it.

The more likely impossibility is Democrats getting 60 votes in the Senate to abolish the filibuster and expand the court to 13.

Yeah but would the Democrats even be smart enough to realize the problem that's being created and attempt to run someone else before it's too late, or would they stubbornly and futilely try to get him back on the ballot until the eleventh hour and be left with the actual Republican nominee running unopposed except for a sea of write-ins?

I think it's a pretty open secret that Gavin Newsom is running a shadow campaign and I suspect he's doing so with the full blessing of the DNC.

I mean, it would be the right thing to do because biden hasn't actually broken any laws. Even if you don't like him, it's the right thing to fight for.

And they'll toss any democrat anyway, and won't stop until a literal insurrectionist is illegally added back to all the ballots across the US. Because it's only a states rights issue until it's standing in the way of what they want.

I feel positively ill contemplating that this time next year, Trump is likely to be president-elect. I just don't know how to process that.

By this time next year: trump will be a convicted felon and on his way to prison.

The polls are absolutely wrong, the methods are geriatric and don't reflect the voting public any more. Every single day: another handful of people that has been recently wronged by republicans are becoming voting age, and are registering to vote, despite the republican voter suppression, in record numbers. Democrats have over performed in every election since trump first got power, and the news about trumps trials is keeping the reasoning fresh in everyone's minds.

Unless democratic voters get completely and utterly apathetic: there is no path for republicans back into the white house for at least a generation. Scream at every american you know that they absolutely need to vote this time, and trump will get the karma he has long deserved.

Because if they don't vote in '24, they won't get to vote no more.
