... Donald created a new job for Elon Musk and ******* named it D.O.G.E.

I should've become an alcoholic years ago like my cousins...
bad move, alcohol will kill your liver. You should become a pothead instead.

God knows weed is all that's getting me through this election outcome.

DOGE will be outside the government, so all it should be able to do is make non-binding suggestions. I wonder if they'll notice the irony.

But being outside the government also means it'll be beyond any normal oversight mechanisms, so there's going to be major issues here.

But how will you know that the billionaires added 65 billion to their fortune last wednesday without us? Fox won't tell you that jive.
I know right?
But like also this isn't a matter of opposing view points. We aren't talking like "Well I don't think I really like president Bush's approach to the enviroment" its "I don't like the fact that people are mad I voted for a guy whos going to gut all our critical governmental departments and is threatening to deport millions even if they are citizens"

Respect for people has to come before respect for opinions anyway.

Some people call it the "paradox of tolerance" but I've never seen it as a paradox, because "how someone views and treats other people" never has been and never will be a category that it's wrong to "discriminate" based on.
And (more directly related to the threat title), neither is "whether someone is guilty of serious crimes".

Yeah, sorry Deathy G1, but you voted against a middle class tax cut in favor of a top 1% tax cut. You might have meant well, but you are kind of a moron.

I know P&R is bit more wild west than the rest of the board, but this is out of line. Telling a poster they are too dumb to know what there own interests are, and what's best for there family is something that shouldn't be ok for any member to post, let alone an admin.

I’m going to bow out of the Politics forum. I probably shouldn’t ever have come in here at all. This really isn’t a place for opposing viewpoints.
This is ridiculous by the way. All the way through the first Trump administration, there were self-identified conservatives regularly posting here. Just not conservatives who supported Trump. It's down to just Teufel these days, although I think the others disappeared when the forum reset (along with a few other posters whose perspectives I miss).

I stand by my words. Moron is a pretty benign slam in the big picture, and we've all been one at various points in our lives. In 2000 when I was young and dumb I voted for Ralph Nader. I meant well, but I was a moron.

Are you actually saying that someone can't be objectively wrong about what's in their family's interests?

If so....I disagree in the strongest possible terms.

The idea that people (usually fathers/husbands) can "decide" what's best for their family, instead of having a responsibility to learn what's best, is not just incorrect. It's not even just incorrect on a deeper level than believing something untrue about a politician is.
It's one of the most harmful of all beliefs.
It's why parents who believe nonsense can get away with not vaccinating their kids; it's why so-called parents can hit their kids and not be charged with a crime; it's a major part of why even what does meet the too-narrow definition of child abuse often goes unreported.

Speaking of Fox because this is an absolute clownworld where you just get handed major positions because you orange nosed Trump hard enough, Fox host Pete Hegseth is going to be SecDef. Is he qualified? Not remotely. Does that matter? Given all the other people hes tapped I can safely say that it doesn't matter in the slightest to him.
