That they're going (primarily) DW with Megatronus/The Fallen and G2 for Liege Maximo is a good sign in my opinion. The Aligned designs were uninspired and really embodied just how bland Transformers design of the early 2010s could get. Plus robot Loki is no buys but G2 Liege? All the buys.
Unfortunately for some of the Thirteen the Aligned stuff is their primary representation. I really hope that the HasTak teams really didn't feel married to any of that stuff and, baring any other more interesting take, they choose to improvise for the sake of cool design.
Yeah, sadly, that figure is... not great.TBH Vector Prime has set my expectations super low out of the gate.
Good to see you're still holding out hope for Grandus.Mmmmmm. Titan class box covered in weapons...
Power Core Combiners retool without the automorphing springs for the drone limbs. It just occurred to me. How are they going to do Nexus Prime. Since in all his (brief) appearances, he’s a combiner?
Two Aerialbots, Brawl, Vortex and Onslaught retools/redecos.
There has was talk a couple years ago about increasing the number of Commanders from 1 to 2 per year. If we’re going to see Combaticons in the initial assortments, Hasbro may push Onslaught out spring 2026. Recent comments about ensuring complete teams are released in a timely fashion (I think Hasbro mentioned 6 month period), makes me believe that they would need to get Onslaught out in spring if team members will be slipping out over the course of Age of the Primes (however long it runs. Shipping estimates are making it look like the leaked listing will either be a compressed fall or will end up slipping into the following spring)We do seem to be getting both Aerialbots and Combaticons in listings for the first year of Primes. So I imagine Nexus will be a 3rd year release. Year 1, Superion since Silverbolt is apparently the next Commander Class; Year 2: Bruticus, Year 3: Nexus Prime.
That'd be an awfully small Nexus Prime.Power Core Combiners retool without the automorphing springs for the drone limbs.
My reply was meant to be playful too. Guess I needed an emoji to convey that.I apologize if that seemed anything more than facetious.
With both combiner torso characters AND increasingly truck w/ trailer characters (Primes etc) moving into the Commander price point, that is a LOT of pressure for only one figure per year (maybe more like 9 months now?). It just makes sense to move to 2 a year if they ever want to do other characters in the future. I'm still hoping for a new Overlord, Sixshot and Thunderclash, myself. There has was talk a couple years ago about increasing the number of Commanders from 1 to 2 per year. But I don’t think Nexus necessarily HAS to be a new combiner torso. I think Hasbro could do something interesting echo-ing Infernicus, Centuritron (T30) or RiD15 Chop Shop: a singular robot that can break down into several smaller, mono-form, components. Even the original bio for Nexus made by the club is evocative of Voltron.
I feel that makes Nexus more unique instead of him just “stealing limbs” from other combiners.
