The armor stuff might also be too big for a contemporary Voyager. I mean, yeah, technically the wingblade parts were designed to be compatible with the deluxe Animated Optimus too but they were clearly too big to fit the smaller figure.
I never could figure out how to get the wing backpack on the Deluxe figure.

That sounds like the kind of "speculation" that amounts to "this would be cool, and since Hasbro has been doing unlikely-sounding things, every cool thing is probably happening."
That’s what I was thinking when that idea was first mentioned. I feel like, if Hasbro is going to dip into the well of unmade designs, there are PLENTY more compelling than the Animated Powermaster concept. Everything from Transtech, to unmade show characters (especially RiD15’s Decepticons), to even more obscure like the designs intended for Transformers Heroes (before it became Animated).

But like I said before, the wingblade parts could easily be incorporated into some sort of con/Selects/Fan Channel/not general retail release. Anything more would put the budget into the territory of “might as well make something that might have broader appeal”.

Worst case scenario, someone like DNA Design makes an upgrade kit containing the wing pack, gauntlets, and hammer. But it is always preferable that those come from Hasbro instead.

If I spent my entire life searching, do you think I would find someone on the street who knows what Transtech is? At least Animated got released and has fans who seemingly never lose patience.

Maybe we'll get Optimus, Bumblebee, and Prowl redecoed into various Botcon-bait characters who have never been to Earth.

Oh, DNA surely will. But they will also include the unnecessary gap fillers, leg extenders, extra hands, and all the other stuff that no one needs, to justify whatever arbitrary price point they're going for.

At this point I would be surprised if the kit includes the parts we do want. DNA has gotten weird.
I used to really look forward to both Toyhax sticker sets and DNA upgrade kits, but these days, both of their sets for most TFs seem to be bloated, irrelevant and overpriced. I think they both need to have a long look at themselves and start releasing smaller sets more in-tune with "essential" features fans want.

In fact, I think both companies should sell such sets together. I would love it if I could buy the types of "PayPal only" kits sold at TFSafari, plus a few stickers to give extra details for around 20-40 dollars (depending on the amount of wanted items in the set).

What I don't want are toys mummified in stickers, complete with leg-fillers, massive, unwieldy weapons the original toy/character never had, a hardly noticeable increase in height, screw hole covers and extra characters that are being sold by Hasbro anyway. Just give me the bloody weapons and features and paint/sticker details the original toy had and be done with it.

It can't, simple as that, but one can only guess that Hasbro planned to do either a new mold or retool the existing verison, but we'll never know as Hasbro cut the series short as it hit its stride

Hasbro's plan was to make the wing pack compatible with both the Voyager and the Deluxe mold, and would have released it with the Deluxe:

Must be new toy week, saw the newest wave of Deluxes at Target today, along with Studio Series Voyager Rhinox and Gamer Megatron.

Like a dweeb, I got the Beast Combiners Optimus Prime instead of the new Legacy stuff.

You... you don't need to use every sticker ToyHax includes in a set. In fact a lot of that "bloat" are redundant options to give the customer agency.

I get that this may chafe you, buying stickers you don't need, but I'm always going to be a fan of giving customers options.
