That's why I'm wondering about the possible suicidal or glutton for punishment angle during the beatdown. If I heard that right.
Remember the scene in The Dark Knight where Batman was on his Bat-Pod and Joker was egging him on to run him over with it? Joker was going "Come on, hit me! Hit me!" He was goading Batman, daring him to do it. That's what Starscream was doing, goading D-16, egging him on to prove himself a real man and show that he isn't a coward/wuss/loser/etc. Like when bullies goad their victims to fight back and say things like "Let's see what you're made of," or "You don't have the nerve," or "Show me what you've got, tough guy." That kind of primeval, toxic masculinity and stuff.

Did One Starscream say 'kill me' at that part though?

No. He said "Hit me! Do it! Come on! Yeah, more!"

Then when D grabbed his neck and pinned him to the ground, Starscream shouted, "Is that all you got, rustbucket?" But then D began to squeeze his neck and Starscream, realizing he'd gone too far, said "No! Wait! Come on!" with an alarmed look on his face.

Then when D drew his Fusion Cannon for the first time and shoved in in Starscream's face, Starscream (with his damaged voice) said "Please! I beg you!", pleading for mercy.

And I was even coming into this thread with the express purpose (besides catching up) of saying the only thing missing from Orion Pax effectively validating Hot Rod in '86 was having him try to stop D-16 and Sentinel fighting is pouncing on Sentinel, and Sentinel using him as a shield.

How great would not only that have been, but also to have D-16 opt to take the shot, anyway?
Or maybe the '86 movie should have had Hot Rod jump in between Optimus and Megatron and take a shot meant for Optimus by Megatron, thus 80s kids wouldn't have blamed him as much for "getting Optimus killed". ;)
Although now that I think about it, Orion did still get shot in the same area that G1 Megatron fatally shot Optimus in the 86 movie, only with much more visible damage in this movie.

Megatron jumps between Optimus shooting at Hot Rod.

Afterward, everyone just stands there, wondering what just happened.

Yeah, everything that's being discussed, from issues (especially as Megatron goes) to his bully taunting to his panicked begging for his life, is elevated by it being in Buscemi's voice. If ScarJo was surprisingly engaging, Steve brought a great level of personality and edge to this.

Tangent: I would love for a sequel -- All Hail Megatron -- to focus on Megatron entrenching himself and wiping out opposition. Starscream could have an entire mini-arc in this for himself.

Hopefully that or any sequel is not a moot point by now.

If home video sales are enough to get this thing a sequel but they can't afford to bring Buscemi back, I hope they just don't have Starscream speak at all. Total silence.

I heard he also said "Mm, yeah, just like that," but I haven't been back to verify.

Nor am I sure I want to.
Do iiiiiit! They need the ticket revenue, hehe.

Also, could you confirm if Prime materialized his axe on both hands?

Like, when it first appeared, was it on his left hand (when he used it to throw energy slices at D16). But later, at the end of the fight and even the final shot when he was running at the screen for the final pose whatever, it was on his right hand?

Hah, I'd love to, but I think my budget is unfortunately tapped right now, and that's no joke. I don't know if it'll even still be in theaters by the time I have more money.
