What stupid thing did the GOP say or do this time? Episode 3!

How does it work?
An excellent question for Vance, who seems to think that the vice presidency comes with the power to overrule immigration laws. And maybe comes with a wand?
Seriously, the haitians have been granted legal status. In order to remove that status, you're going to have to have congressional action. This is not something the executive branch can arbitrarily do. It's not something a vice president can do at all.
So he can call them illegal, he can continue to rabble rouse, but it means nothing until one of his followers does something tragically stupid.

For me, what this clip demonstrates is a continued lack of understanding of the power of the office and of government in general. Not from Vance. No, he's smart enough and been around enough to know how things work. This is crowd work, playing it up for the sound byte and the next 8 hours on Fox News. But Trump voters, the red state backbone people simply do not have an understanding of government and continue to buy this drek wholesale.

yadayadayada, public education, the GOP wants low intellect chattel class workers who do what they're told, blahblahblah. . .

I mean, the Trump campaign has been engaging in equally hateful and dangerous rhetoric since his first election campaign and no one so much as tried to sue then.

I hope trump and vance get sued for their actions over the last few weeks. There has been very real, economic, cultural and emotional damage to haitians in general and springfield in particular. There needs to be consequences for this terrorism.
But don't you know that sometimes lying is the only way to tell the truth?

The Vice Presidency is a political shell game that both sides are trying to win. The ideal for Harris is that Democrats believe she has been integral and active in everything the Biden administration has done and that Republicans believe she's been biding her time and learning how the system works. It's not clear at all and she doesn't really want to cler things up. She has gratitude to and I believe affection for Joe and she may have learned and been won over on things, but when she ran against him she didn't agree with him on everything. And all of it comes down to where the Vice President can fly under the radar. Almost nobody, myself included, knows what they do all day on a non-election year.

You don't know because you didn't do two minutes worth of research.
I think you didn't mean to be silly. But I'm going to take some exception, because it feels like you are making fun of me when you are actually being silly.

But the first link you provided says "preside", "break ties" and "count electoral votes". They "advise the President" and "occupy an office". There is a little more detail in the brown links, but not what I'm talking about at all. They preside over the Senate when it is in session, but it usually isn't and they don't have to be there if they don't have a key interest in that day's work. In reality, even the next in line, President Pro Tempore, doesn't usually sit up there. It is very uncommon for the VP to need to break a tie. It has been done 301 times. Kamala has done it 3 times, twice on the same day (Biden never did it). Kamala hasn't had to count any electoral votes yet. She will do that one time in January. Occupying an office requires no time at all. It total depends on you. A staff can manage all of that. Now, advising the President? We don't get records of that. It is pretty well established that Dick Cheney "advised" W quite a LOT. And it is often insinuated that Bill Clinton didn't listen to Al Gore at all. We don't get to see.

Your second link is the schedule for the State Department. It has nothing at all to do with the Vice President. There is probably a similar page for the Vice President, but it wouldn't answer what I'm talking about. Yes, you can see that they are scheduled to attend some meetings, probably some every day. What do they say? Do they ask questions? Do they answer them? Are they creating policy? Are they deciding where to put 20,000 Haitians? Are they persuading the President? Are they persuading the Speaker of the House? Sometimes we hear about those things. Usually we don't. Are they giving recommendations? Are they volunteering to handle issues? Are they getting assigned scut work that the President doesn't want to be responsible for? Are they being given chores to keep them busy so they won't cause trouble? Are they toeing the party line because they rely on the President's coattails? Are they advocating for alternate views and is it doing any good or falling on deaf ears? Are the meetings they attend a lot of pomp where things aren't actually getting decided? Does the President invite them along when decisions really are being made?

. . . . look, aside from those asexual individuals, we're all pervs of some kind or another. People, again barring the asexuals, love sex and everyone has something that turns their crank. I'm not about to slut shame anyone.
WITH THAT SAID:
Voyeurism is wrong unless everyone has given consent beforehand. I know that's not where some of the thrill is, but deal with it. Pretend or playact, but you do not peep on people who don't know and/or don't want you to. Not cool. I don't care what those 80s movies said.
Secondly, the whole black nazi thing is just beyond fucked up.
Third, and by far the most important, WHO THE hug USES THEIR REAL NAME ON PORN SITES? What kind of blisteringly stupid dumbass actually gives their porn sources their real name?!!? How ******* stupid are you? And, voters, do you want someone that ******* dumb in charge of anything?

hug, even back in the early days of the internet I knew enough to use someone else's name. Many apologies to Mr. Sprague, my history teacher whose name I stole for my first naughty forum membership.

It also gives the schedule for the day of the president and the veep.
So did you read what I wrote or...

I knew the job description of the Vice President, but it doesn't tell us anything. I didn't know that you could look up her meeting calendar online. I knew that at least some of it could be gleaned from public sources, but it doesn't tell us anything.

To hopefully elucidate with a colorful example, I am sure there were lots and lots of meetings about where to set the permanent Capitol of the USA. The President probably attended some. The Vice President may have attended some. The decision was made at the Secretary of State's house over dinner and the only attendees were the Secretary of the Treasury and a Congressman from Virginia. They made the decision. That meeting would not have appeared on a calendar.

This week Kamala Harris is running for President, but this week last year if she is meeting at 10 with the Treasury Secretary and at 2 with the Congressional Black Caucus, it doesn't answer any question that I raised. We don't know why she was there. We don't know if anything important happened. If it did, we don't know whether she led or even participated. Right off the bat (I think) the White House announced that Harris would be working on the border and that has become a huge political headache for her. Biden made her responsible, probably because he didn't think anything would happen that he wanted credit for, and now she is running for President with a semi-credible charge that this was her project. I was not watching her daily schedules, but I didn't hear about any other initiatives that were hers. She hasn't made a lot of public statements. She has been the more typical, pretty quiet VP and so we really don't know how much credit she gets for Biden's successes or how much blame she gets for failures. But her campaign touts Biden's successes as if they are hers and Trump's campaign drags out Biden's failures as if they are hers and she is stuck in a weird place. She can't get out of Biden's failures without throwing her mentor under the bus and probably angering a lot of her base, so she just has to take it. We know, if we think about it, that she hasn't agreed with everything he's done, but she isn't in a place where she can start distancing herself from him, so she kinda has to go with the idea that she is running for Biden's second term and then pivot as quietly as possible to her own priorities later.

But wait, there's more!

An email address belonging to North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson was registered on Ashley Madison, a website designed for married people seeking affairs.
