He was just stringing you along. That JC's a stone-cold playa. You should ditch that zero and get with a hero.

Man the GOP had the worst night of their politcal lives last night after voters basically said yes to abortion, weed, and trans rights.

Ironbite-looking forward to a Blue Virginia.

I expect them to learn nothing and continue to double down.

When friggin' Kansas voted to protect abortion rights, it was obvious what would happen. When the rubber meets the road, even conservative women don't want their options taken away from them. And many of the conservative men probably don't want to get stuck with an unplanned kid either. Child support payments suck up a lot of funds that could be better spent on guns and ammo.

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

Yeah, well, that's generally what happens when you attempt to overthrow your government. The level of apathy and normalization the US is seeing is just... just ******* outrageous. You don't let them keep participating in the elections they tried to end.

So if abortion isn't what keeps Republicans in office, what is? Just a few years ago we treated abortion bans as Republicans' carrot on a stick. But now it seems a lot of people would gladly vote for Republicans despite their hardline position on abortion, not because of it. So what's the real carrot?

The outrage, mostly. Keep a population jacked up on anger and paranoia, combined with a little bit of the messiah complex, and republicans had a winning formula for like 30 years.

Then they stopped "trying" and started doing and once they actually got what they were screaming about: turns out no one liked it.

FB friend:
I hate it when people use their own emotional fragility as a rebuttal, eg- "you can't accuse Trump supporters of being racist, or else they [meaning me] will shut down and refuse to listen to anything you say".
It drives me crazy when Republicans mention Orwell and "1984". These fuckers actually have a group called "Moms for Liberty" which is famous for banning books! The "liberty" they speak of is literally the liberty to ban things. It's a PERFECT example of what Orwell would have called DoubleSpeak.
"Woke" is how the right-wing made racism publicly acceptable again. They use this word to attack anything which doesn't conform to their preferred social norms.

Where racists would have once used bigoted slurs, they can simply substitute the word "woke" now, and it becomes completely acceptable to say in public.
Sorry, starving African kids: Jesus can't help you because he needs to spend the next year helping Donald Trump get elected.
Modern fascists have figured out how to disguise fascism as freedom: simply proclaim that you defend freedom for all, and then do a consistently lousy job of extending freedom to the people you don't like.

It's fascism with plausible deniability.

Honestly? I want to see the House Democrats respond in kind. All it'd take is one Republican who's sick of her jive.
