AOC says that this is just how this guy talks. Beyond out of touch with the rest of reality.

Ironbite-scary to think about.

Maybe he's an alien that only speaks in buzzwords much like the Tamarians who only speak in metaphor.

I can translate: "We got so jealous of Kids Today who never had to live through the Cold War that we're deliberately starting it up again. Have fun!"

She's what happens if you take the scraps that were even too stupid for Trump, stuff them into a leftover hot dog casing, and taught it to make noises with its face.

Why the hell is this the issue the GOP has decided will finally allow them to get total power? Why? And in the case of Idaho, if you leave the state with your trans teen, you will be persecuted under this law because you might be trying to get your trans teen....medical help.

Ironbite-because that's the worst thing as a parent you can do.

because it's WORKING.

The general public has decided the existence of trans people is more disgusting to them than fascism.

No, the general public is, at best, indifferent to this. Which is horrible in it's own right, but yeah. The Republicans and their loyal base are more disgusted by trans people than fascism and literally because they needed a new culture war talking point. Trans are already disenfranchised and marginalized and by and large so poorly understood that it's easy to push this.

You can't fix these assholes: but you can support trans rights (they are human rights after all.) and vote against this culture war bullshit. Don't blame the majority for actions and attitudes of the minority. It's the same reason we can't hate on russians for putins war.

Hopefully it is sloppy enough it'll be easily slapped down. Or maybe Idaho residents will be able to convince the state senate to vote against it. As Boozy mentioned, they obviously don't expect it to pass muster under a real challenge, but that doesn't stop it from doing harm while the first case is raised and challenged.

That's the one thing I really hate about these sorts of bills(or amendments) that are obviously not going to survive the courts but get passed anyways - they can't be challenged until you have a victim of them with enough backing to challenge it, and then it's still in effect against others while the case is brought forth, argued, and judged. And even after that, if there's appeals, and there's no stay put on the law in the meantime...
