It doesn't work for me. My son has zero interest in Transformers, so he wanders over to the Hot Wheels / Matchbox aisle.
I know! It's makes no sense at all! Clearly I've failed as a parent.
The plus side is, he leaves my toys mostly alone.
When he was younger, he did love using my roughly 1:64 scale Transformers as "wreck-able" cars, using the transformation joints to make them appear to be cars that had crashed.

Somewhere we've got a KO of one of those.
But his interests have always been exclusively with the real life cars. He's an absolute car nut and loves having scale models of real life vehicles, especially the odd and obscure ones. He has grown to appreciate Alternators for their real life vehicle alt modes.

Got most of those, too. I had never really come to terms with Alternators being over, so I was supplementing my collection with Human Alliance, Roadbots, roughly 1:24 motorcycle Transformers....I was a mess.
