A recent thread on 2005 asked "what were the rarest Transformer toys that were ever actually released to consumers?" Meaning, no truly unreleased toys and no contest prize / Lucky Draw figures. Someone, somewhere, walked into a store and walked out with the product.
Some of the suggested answers were reasonable (ATB Megatron, Animated Nemesis Prime, G2 Breakdown), a lot weren't (Legacy Cosmos). But it looks like nobody had even heard of what might have been the real answer:
The White Headmaster Warriors were made available as free-gift-with-your-purchase items in some unknown store(s) in Japan briefly in 1987. I joined the online fandom about 10 years after that and there were a few people mentioning how impossible it had been to get them. I saw White Loafer at Botcon '00 and people were making a huge fuss about it there. The TF: Generations guidebook has a picture only of White Shuffler. The same set of five has alternately been owned by Arkvander (Transformers Redux) and Heroic-Decepticon.
Does anyone here own one - and more importantly, is anyone known to have a full set of 6?
