Just finished the latest ep and season finally of Demon Slayer, while much of the ep was dialog heavy, the animation was top notch, one moment reminded me of AOT, the people behind the series did their best and delivered a great ep

AOT so called final season should of just gone by actual season numbers, but then again, I believe it switched studios for the time skip, I guess the owners of the IP wants to make as much money as they can from Demon Slayer, after all the Mugan Train arc movie was pretty sucessful in terms of profit!

I expect this to be rather short considering the manga is only six volumes in total, thou I hope its not going to have a rushed and soulless feel like Sailormoon Crystal did, that looked pretty but that was it, it came across as a soulless adaption to me

Recently finished:
Moyashimon: A college student that can see microbes! Premise was interesting, and I thought it would be more educational like Cells at Work, but it ended up being more about booze and guys being creeps.

Muromi-san: Mermaid gag anime. This was dumb. At least the main boy wasn't a perv, but I swear they spent half the budget on the mermaid with the biggest boobs. Also a bit sketchy with the loli Yeti.

Tonari no Yokai-san: I went in expecting a cute story about life with yokai. I was not expecting drama, but it was really good. Basic concept is that yokai have always existed and live normally with humans. There's existential questions, scary things, and things that can't be explained. They did a very good job of showing what life would be like with yokai, both the good and bad. Though I do think that you should have some knowledge of Japanese yokai to understand, or be willing to look it up. https://yokai.com/
Also, keep tissues handy.

Kaiju no 8 season 1 is over. I fully expect a season 2, and the manga is ongoing. I recently stumbled on an Uniqlo store, and they have Kaiju no. 8 shirts on sale for $9.90. The sizes are American.

Just watched the first ep of Quality Assurance in Another World, at first it looks like studio Ghibli work and thou its not, the story seems like a light hearted story but towards the end, of the first ep, it takes a slightly darker twist in a similar fashion to SAO first major twist!!

So 3 episodes into Code Geass: Roze of the Recapture, and I feel like I'm watching the SW Sequel trilogy. Like It's short of Emperor Charles coming back as the main villain, but hey Neo Britannia retook Japan and made it a hell hole for the natives again under the still functioning USJ and the the Black Knights. Like WTF Suzaku? Didn't Lelouch leave you around as Zero to prevent this kind of BS?

But I am enjoying it. It's not set much further ahead as there have been cameo appearances of a few old characters and one in particular hasn't aged too much it seems. But it's primarily a new cast. The two lead protagonists have an interesting drama building between themselves. And hooray for more Mecha and Clamp cheesecake.

So, YouTube cycled in a promo video video from Trigger promoting the NEW Panty and Stocking series, which lead me down a wiki rabbit hole to discovering…
Gainax is no more. I looked a couple of pages back and nobody seemed to comment on it, so here ya go:

tl;dr- After driving much of its talent away to form new studios (notably, Khara and Trigger) Gainax suffered under mismanagement and debt until declaring bankruptcy last month. Rights are still up in the air for many projects, but the Gainax name and Evangelion rights will go to Khara, while Trigger got total control of Gurren Lagann and the previously mention Panty and Stocking.

I wanted to watch this, but it looks like I might have to jump through some hoops. (IE check some less than... official places) to watch it. Anichart SAYS Crunchy Roll has it but. Well they don't. It's no where on the site.

Just watched the first ep of: No Longer Allowed in Another World, at first, it starts seemingly sumber note, but then turns into a comedy, our MC is trying to die with his beloved until Truck-kun strikes and he ends up in another world, at first thinking its the afterlife until he told otherwise by a preistess and then he tries to off himself, again by overdosing upon pills! The first ep is rather funny when it gets going and our MC starts a harem of two girls by accident and both of them have oddly shaped ears by what he says!

It's surprisingly obnoxious to get new seasonal shows on a Crunchyroll watchlist. The release calendar is useless and overrun with episode updates for dubs in a million languages you don't speak and can't filter, their big seasonal preview page with trailers doesn't actually let you watchlist shows from it or even link you to the individual show pages, you basically have to just keep checking Simulcast every single day. Aside from that it's pretty solid, long gone are the days 12 years ago where it would just always buffer no matter what I watched it on or how good the Internet speeds were.

I hadn't watched anime on Hulu for a couple years, but for me across all platforms I watch on they don't have subtitles anymore, they have closed captioning which describes basic actions, music, etc in addition to dialogue and has a solid black background behind poor looking text and it's just... awful. I used to watch it all the time years ago and it was fine. I wonder if this is because of the Disney purchase because Disney+ does the same for anime on it. Just... I don't understand how you screw up subtitles on anime like this? Seems like the bare minimum you should have down.

I keep meaning to try HiDive since they always have shows each season I want to watch and I want to throw money at the competition, but I've read a lot of comments that they rolled out a crappy overhaul that majorly reduced functionality and is months behind on a promised schedule on it getting fixed with no new communication from the company.

Sometimes streaming anime legally is such a damn chore. 😅

Yeah, watched that today and I was pretty happy with it. Taking a standard isekai world and dropping this suicidal black rain cloud into the middle of it such a fun idea that really turns everything upside down. He's even got a sexpot harem following him around and he's not a horn dog or a flustered weeping puddle like most isekai leads, instead he's focused on his perfect double suicide with his doomed tragic love. But it's not too downbeat or anything, it manages to find a good balance and be funny, which is kind of odd to say about a suicidal character but there ya go. Really curious to see where it goes from here now that he's found a (temporary) purpose of sorts.

I use the Crunchyroll app for Roku, no major issues. Though, I do tend to randomly browse and add what looks interesting. I don't think you can Watchlist anything until it has at least 1 ep out?
