Well, the worst queue I had to deal with last night was 470, so things have improved since Endwalker dropped. (And I got most of my UI-fixing done midday when queues were sub-50.)

One effect of the graphics update is higher resolution whether you wanted it or not...so all the UI elements are now significantly smaller. I found going into settings and globally changing UI size to 110% got things tolerably readable, although I may need to shift to 120% to get back to the size it used to be. I also had to manually adjust the size of most of the elements like trays and chat window (went to 14 point font). Irksome to me is that things I used to have at 60% are too small, but going to 80% makes them too big for the layout I use.

It wasn't bad enough that I wanted to jump to the 150% "Full HD" setting, though. (Hitting "Apply All" which is kinda crossed out by my red circle would have made things more hassle for me, since a lot of my UI elements are deliberately smaller...my power trays are now at 100% not 110%, as I used to have them at 90%, for instance.)

I blacked it out because the person I was talking to there was not online and I didn't have a chance to ask them. So I'm trying to keep their ID private. Don't try to figure it out

Thanks. The default editing tools on the iPhone are kinda...well, they're crap.

You also have pretty good eyes, or the iPhone screen is just too small I didn't see what you saw.

Last night in prime time I got worse queues (half an hour wait on Excalibur), I suspect a lot of people couldn't get the download done until the weekend. Oddly, almost no problem on Hyperion, another "legacy server," so either Excalibur is just that much more popular...or had more people restarting their "avoid being idled out" programs.

Last night there were some really long queues on Faerie. This morning I got right in, but I'm guessing that's because it was early. I'm guessing tonight will be a different story.

Yeah, mornings have been fine, as have late nights. It's prime time (mid-afternoon through 9PM or thereabouts, starting earlier on weekends) that's got the half hour waits.

Could be. If so, sounds like a good time to get that Reaper IFF. I'd have been done with ME2 days ago if not for the Early Access.

After Dawntrail.

not that I expected them to go back and re-render old cinematics. But I just wanted to be sure. Anyone see anything?

The differences I noticed were mostly overworld, but I was introduced to a trick that helped in my case:

For some reason, being at 100 leads to some slight blurring, going down to 99 sharpens things up a lot.

I've seen videos on YouTube that tell you about that but don't show the process. I'll have to try again when I get home.

Just to be sure, does that work for PS5 or is it just a PC thing?

So, they've admitted that removing damage from GNB and DRK dashes was a mistake, since now those tanks rush in and fail to generate any aggro. Sounds like they plan to add a taunt effect to the dashes rather than putting damage back in, though.

Also, if you haven't gotten around to trying the Monk or Astrologian changes yet, you might want to wait until they get patched.

I have literally never had my combat gear break in FFXIV, in part because previous games taught me to repair whenever possible. :) (I think I have occasionally broken a piece of crafting gear, especially the L1 crap if I set up a big "make 200 copper ingots" sort of grind and left the room to get a snack.)

Anyway, got past the Feat of Pots and my main job up to L94, but I'm gonna step back and level up another job while getting all the side quests done. One thing I learned on my first character was that if I only have one job high enough to do quests it tends to limit my opportunities. (Although at least later expansions started making all the side quests be the "ends in zero" level for the zone, so all of my 90s can do side quests. Plus now the Role Quests start at L90, not L84 or whatever they did with the EW ones.)

I changed my original character from Miq'ote to Hrothgar, and some of her glams don't really look as good on an amazonian figure, so after deciding on Summoner as my second focus job (they are almost as good at run-and-gun as Bards at L90!) I redid the glam for that job mostly using high-end Island Sanctuary stuff that I hadn't had when I had last set up the SMN glam:

To give some idea how little work I'd put into Kat's glams lately, most of her jobs didn't even have portraits, because that function came out after I'd hit 90 on all the jobs I'd been doing on her. I'd really only been playing Machinist or Dancer to get through the post-EW duties.
