Whoever was the final check, the last person who said "Yeah, we should still go ahead with the Boeing Starliner" should pay a severe price even if everyone makes it home safely.

Boeing can still build things that are fine more often than not. They're not a guaranteed failure by any means. I'm not implying they're that bad yet. But it was excruciatingly obvious that they are no longer up to the standard NASA should be demanding. If Boeing's current standards are good enough, then NASA's current standards aren't good enough.

Keep making airplanes. Most of them will still land safely. But stay the hell out of space.
