At first I mained either April for speed or Casy for strength. But then when Usagi came out I mostly just used him because he has some serious hang time when jumping and slashing. But Mona is just broken in the best possible ways. She's got more range than Donny. Like, seriously, she's the only one who can hit the statue of tyranny while it's hanging back without having to throw a foot soldier. Her test tube tossing also makes jumping in on white sword soldiers relatively safe.
I've only seen one episode of the Fred Wolf Mondo so in my head, Mondo is the lean kid by Garret Ho (I think that was the artist name).
Maybe he was just made to look smaller because he was a kid in the Mutanimals group. Hmm, though he was drawn muscular in his first appearance by Chris Allan.
