So its past due for my monthly trip to Game Exchange, and they had got in some great stuff.

First of all, they had a good collection of loose Sega CD games, and some loose 32X games. I picked up a copy of Virtual Racer for the 32X so I could do a comparison one day between the two versions I have. So now I have two 32X games, with Doom being my other one.

They had a ton of loose Genesis games, but I passed on a few of the more tempting ones.

I then strolled through the 3DS/DS section and I found a complete copy of Populous for the DS for $8! I didn't even know that they made this game! I loved the SNES game so I had to grab this at that price.

Nothing to get in the PS1 or N64 shelves, as they were just the usual stuff.

SNES had a few low dollar tempting titles like Pilot Wings and Chess Master, but I passed on them today, as I had my eyes set on the stuff in the case.

In the case they had a ton of cool stuff! Nothing in the NES section I am after, but the 16 bit was loaded! TMNT 2: Turtles in Time, 2 copies of Zelda: Link to the Past, Megaman X, Megaman X2, and this little guy!

Hyperstone Heist for $44! The label isn't the best, but I kind of like the wear and the Movie Gallery stickers. A great one to strike off of my list right before my birthday!

It's... actually eaiser for me to just say the ones I don't have...

I don't have Super C or Darkwing Duck. (Like Nytetrayn, I have them on collections)

I don't have Donky Kong Country 3

Then I don't have nor really want Battletoads for Genesis, and Beast Wars for PS1.

And with that we have ANOTHER HIDDEN GEM PICK FOR NES!

Whomp Em is another game that got the 'Americanized' treatment coming over here. Originally having you play as another character based on the Monkey King from Journey of the west. Now made an Indian warrior called Soaring Eagle.

It's basically a MegaMan clone. You only get one life (but infinite continues and potions that can refill your life) and you are allowed to tackle the six stages in any order you want. Gaining a new ability upon defeating the boss at the end.

If you're like me and love the MegaMan games, this is a neat one to grab. If you see it for the right price.

Well, I just won a really beat up copy of Megaman 1 for the NES off of ebay!

Not in the greatest shape but the price was right for it. This game goes for way too much money these days. I'll clean it up and add it to my collection. Now I have Megaman 1-4 again like I did as a kid!

It hurts to see it in that condition, but it's a good thing it's in a good home now. I myself have a copy of Comix Zone for the Genesis that kinda looks like that.

That brings me to the next hidden gem I want to talk about!

I admit with SNES drunk here. It's not an amazing game, but it has a lot of charm and cool designs. I found out about this because I bought a Nintendo Hint book that gave strategies for this game and fell in love with the weird boss designs. It's just a neat little game to pop in and play if you want something short and quirky. Doesn't go for too much if you just want a cart.

After some clean up and little retro brighting, I got it looking like this:

Its an improvement but that brown just doesn't seem to fading away that fast. I might try to retro bright it some more tomorrow and see if the brown stains come off with a full day of sun. If not, I might have to swap the front out and get a new label.

Well, it looks a bit better than it was when I started, but I am still not happy with it. I might just do a case transfer and put on a new label.

Yesterday, I picked up a copy of Jack Nicklaus golf to be a donor cart and order a set of Nintendo bit screw drivers. I also ordered a replacement label and a replacement case for my copy of Hyperstone Heist.

I hate to tear off the pretty good label off of the golf game, but the case itself was a perfect match in great shape for only $3. Going today to another game store at lunch to see what I can find.
