I still haven't bought that Galvatron mold. Gonna have to see it in person before I decide if I pull the trigger on this one.

Hatchet is neat, but I'm so tired of the greebly aesthetic that I'll wait for reviews.

As everyone else has said, this Galvatron is definitely the colors I wish it had been released in the first time, but there's no way I'm paying leader prices for it. If it gathers dust long enough to go on deep clearance, I'd pick one up to swap out with my current Kingdom one (though I may keep the translucent barrel, I do prefer that to the opaque).
So it's a case of TM for TL, TL?

I don't know why no toy ever seems to be able to get Galvatron's blue-violet color right.
The Studio Series one is somewhat more accurate than the Legacy one, but now it's inaccurate in the opposite direction.

These redecos of Universe Galvatron got pretty close:

I'm going to get the 86 Galvatron as I liked the blur colouring, the other two are passes, the Gamer Seeker mold is ok but my main complaint is the fact it has no nullrays and no means to attach any weapons to the robot mode arms, it should be considered a crime against the seekers not to be able to wield weapons on their arms! When I do get the Galvatron, it will be my fourth copy of that mold, the first one was a victim of the factory error that left his shoulders built wrong, then there is the selects verison and finally Legacy, but then, Galvatron has been a bit of a character who been cursed since G1 ended:
After G1, he ends up as Megatron repaints
His first modern toy, got shafted and shunk from a voyager to a bad deluxe
His first voyager based upon G1, you couldn't really do much with the arm cannon in robot mode, it was blocking the arm and just a flip up mask meant to present him as Galvatron, when its kind of obvious that the original plan was for him to be a normal transformer, instead of a Titan Master (the retool into Super Megatron, really did justice to that mold)
The movie verison, saw him become a truck who transforms as a swarm of nanos instead of how other bots did and I believe he didn't have a lot of great toys either at the time
The Kingdom release, saw wide spread constructiion errors in the shoulders

Legacy, broke the curse on him, for now, who knows what the future might hold for the character

In fairness, the actual toy in actual lighting conditions skews more purple than the renders would indicate:

It’s not 100% on point to the exact shade of the animation cels you all seem to want…but I think it’s “close enough” for a mass retail redeco.

I actually DO have two Galvatrons: the toy/comic Selects and the “reformatting” translucent one. This one IS tripping my triggers, and I like how the face ”vibes” a bit differently when they don’t slather it in paint. That said, it’s still another Galvatron, it’s still a leader class item. I’m open to waiting for a sale…
But watch this, because it’s Studio Series, actually get a solid sell through and not even reach discount :p

The rest are fine:
Doublepunch is a nice enough redeco (and seems to vibe a bit more with the film in some respects, to me). I’m glad to see Hatchet freed from the retailer exclusive prison, even if I’m not planning on acquiring. Skywarp is..a redeco. I appreciate the new weapon, but I never found the original that compelling to start.

I AM surprised at the decision to use the 85 mural art on Bumblebee instead of the 84 used on Gears. I assume it was for variety’s sake, and I don’t really care either way, just surprising given how these sorts of items are typically being done.

I love that Galvatron mold, but I have enough of them and am satisfied.
The rest I just don't care about. Bring on Devastator.

Yeah, this is actually the FIFTH use of the mold (with stege, without stege, reformatting, toy colours, and now this). Not to mention it sounds like the Straxus remold is getting at least two decoes as well.

I'd like to see a side-by-side of the previous release with this one in the same lighting (I've seen cropped photos side by side), but right now it's still looking a bit too similar for me. If anything it's not blue enough? Or too saturated? Something. But it does feel like a few clicks away from the redder one the previous release had.

Like I may still get this after it's sat for a while and if there's room in the budget, but currently it feels like I already have it.

Yes. That. Give me that.

And ditch the Revenge guns, use the plastic to give us a taller cannon spire and maybe better boot-ends.

But mainly that color.
